Re: A (half) Century of Music

There's something about Ed Sheeran as a vocalist that I can't help but feel sounds bored in a lot of his songs, even the ones you rate well. Just takes the energy right out at the knees. And as for Praying...I see what you like in it, I do, but good lord it takes too much of its run-time to get anyw...

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War

Leyton's initial reaction, meanwhile, is to bypass the Borg issue entirely and try to crawl inside Dad's head looking for clues.

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War, Volume II

USS Scylla , Brig In the seconds following his father's choice of bombshell, the younger Leyton formed and discarded a whole spread of response, all the while wearing a flickering, variable expression. Are you fucking kidding me!? set into an incredulous twist that stopped just shy of a derisive sn...

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War, Volume II

Prophet's Landing, High Orbit "Done with engines." For a Starfleet vessel, that's not usually something that even needs to be articulated. For that matter, station-keeping thrusters being what they are, it's not something that would even make much sense, outside of spacedock. For a ship in Scylla's...

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War, Volume II

"Captain's Log, Dramatic. Stardate Just After The Last One, we'll fill in if we get around to it but frankly we're busy." Jason Leyton's lips quiver in a suppressed smile for a moment before breaking into a momentary flash of a tired grin. Long gone were the days of spacious captain's quarters, and ...

Re: Frigid reads: book review thread

In your hypothetical 3422 setting, if we're assuming that being gay is no longer a problem, how much does that character's sexuality impact life experiences? It seems to me that if you're writing in a setting where <insert minority here> isn't controversial or noteworthy or what-have-you, then you'r...

"Captain's Log, Apocalyptic. Stardate...uncertain, different computer systems disagree. Stardate after the last one and before the next one. We made it. We almost didn't. RISE FROM YOUR GRAV Because screw you, I'm not compromising such a nice little 4x4 grid of letters with something as trivial as spelling. I'm reposting my ship up here at the end of the thread for ease of accessibility and because at the very least, Scylla needs one major staffing change. Poor Rennt...

I'm...I'm going to have to take a little bit to process this. Havoc is here, but there's no hating going on.

I don't understand...

Seriously though, with a recommendation like that, this goes on my to-do list, and you lot know how few movies I actually see.

Re: At the Movies with General Havoc

The irony there is that if the movie wasn't so short, Nolan could have taken the time to actually establish tension and suspense. Instead, Nolan cut out all the context establishment that would have handled that and tried to paper it over with a soundtrack gimmick.

So, this isn't likely going to matter much for my game, given the absolute sparsity of Cortosis in the Rebellion Era (No, I don't care what the book says. It also mentions the Force Unleashed. I elect to ignore parts of it as I see fit), but I have been working on a fix to the Cortosis Quality for ...

Richmond makes a play to top Florida Man

Megatron busted!

I am disappointed. When you have a last name like that, it's your sworn duty to become famous and high-profile just to maximize the absurdity of the universe, not just sink down into the sewers and wallow.

Okay, draw some great big black lines through my earlier speculation... The styling on that warp entity screams Khorne, the Marine screams sorcerer which screams not-Khorne. I...huh. Could be seriously radical Malleus at an extreme outlier, but more likely out-and-out Chaos of some flavour, but which?

Hmmh, a psychic Ogryn...or more likely a psyker wearing an Ogyrn as a hat. Sisters hunting someone for so long, so doggedly, likely means Hereticus, which in turn spells...interesting things. I didn't get the Tzeentchian gribbly-vibe off of things, so I'm guessing a Puritan/Radical intra-Ordos shitf...

It's especially irritating for my Administratum character. No no, you're outside my jurisdiction, I'm going to have to transfer you to the proper department. Please hold for the Ordo Hereticus.
