Yep. The questions Americans offered. Americans like Sean Hannity. Say, doesn't he have his own show for that? Did you see the Daily Show last night? "Great job Charlie and George. You took insipid, out-of-context quotes and built them up to make them issues. That's my job. I'm the funny man. You a...

The Washington Post-Express had a shirt article with Charlie Gibson and George bitchin' and moaning that they took their moderator roles very seriously and that they asked questions the American people wanted to know the answers too. To the WaPo's credit, it commented that they dragged out questions...

The "Imprisonment/Bad Conduct Discharge" associated with getting booted with being gay in the military did change though, I believe DADT marked it down to an administrative discharge.Cynical Cat wrote:They didn't need DADT to get out of the military. It was already against the rules, that didn't change.

Because I wasn't sure if she had been on my ship before. I had to trade some emails with navy buddies, post on some facebook pages, etc. and there were a lot of "Air Force Salutes". It's hard to remember names when the officer is just known as "SUPPO". But I digress. I finally found an article that ...

As frigid has pointed out, the military has gays in it. Hell, my dad as a somewhat naive small town teenager in the 1950s knew there were a whole bunch of gays in the military. "Don't ask, don't tell" didn't change that. What it did change was the number of people being drummed out of the military ...

One would think the USN could handle pirates pretty well.... I mean, just send in a Carrier group, or a couple of frigates or even destroyers to patrol the area every so often, on a varying schedual so the Pirates never know when there is a group in the area just out of their intel range. Because I...

It turns out that I'm in the same boat (and city) as Squidgey. Are Dell laptops considered good? Christ no. The Army issues them out and they suck. There's something in the BIOS that, for the longest time, caused only one of the two Core 2 Duo processors to work. It's since been fixed, but that was...

There are special levels of hell reserved for the HP/Compaq company. I owned one of their laptops. That laptop lasted little over a year before it died a painful, horrible, terrible death. I still owe over $1000 on it. Worst mistake I ever made. Piece of shit all the way from the word go. I got it ...

On a more serious note, HP has a rather good reputation for their notebooks, and several people I know are quite happy with theirs. Yes, I know, anecdotal evidence, but I'm not digging up any statistics at 1 am. I enjoyed mine for two years, at it was only within the past 6 months or so I started t...

The highlights from the almost disgusting circus... Petraeus is recommending a small drawdown of troops. When pressed on it by Sen. Jack Reed, he was forced to admit it's not 'conditions based' as has been flogged; it's the simple fact that some guys need home because no one else is able to be sent...

Criminals, their supposed to be handed over to the criminal justice system after it's determined that they don't meet the criteria for lawful combatants, which I believe must be determined by a military tribunal. They can be held until the justice system is in a proper state to deal with them thoug...
