Also Flashdance. ***ALWAYS FLASHDANCE!!!!!***

Allen investigated the situation at the U-boats through his binoculars as they approached. Despite the obvious carnage, he smiled grimly to himself. Nice to see we're not the only ones forced to deal with these monsters.... The crackle of the radio and the panicked German voice coming through it era...

Although he had lost all mental traces of the Lords, Frostfell, and his mysteriously hostage captain, Flinder continued to circle the ship, peering down into the murky depths, oblivious to the activity on his back as the munitions and harness were resettled and tightened. "Do you think they'll send ...

The roar from the gun was deafening. Shouts and radio instructions were drowned out by the noise, and remained indiscernible for precious moments afterwards as ears rang from the concussive force. Visibility was momentarily drowned out as well, as smoke washed across Flinder’s back. That the force...

To be clear there was rationalization behind the response. It wasn't done out of Leroy Jenkins bravado*. Things are happening very fast, Allen is still a young captain, and Lt. Bennett is so overcome with awe at seeing something essentially step right out of myth that even his normal steadfast wisdo...

The entire crew watched the Lords in awe. Even Flinder gaped at the scene on the deck of the Ark Royal, forgetting to do anything but glide in a slow arc around the ship. The reverie was broken as soon as the crew realized the second Lord was coming after them and started yelling and scrambling for ...

seems like a clever premise, although I have yet to find a "fantasy-mystery" series that I like. I find them a little too tongue in cheek frequently.

Allen had hoped that the call to action would tempt Flinder out of his melancholy. So far, though, he had been mostly disappointed. Flinder went through the preparations at Tangmere with cool apathy, as if it was no more than another drill, and had been largely silent during the flight to the Ark Ro...

At the suggestion of an under-water attack, Allen's mind conjured an image of the white dragon lurching along under the surface with an exaggerated frog-stroke. He grinned. Captain Reynolds is right, though; even though Frostfell is likely the best swimmer, he would be much too slow under the water....

Allen tugged at the collar of his uniform nervously. Despite having traveled over hundreds of miles of ocean to reach Britain, the prospect of engaging in a naval battle unnerved him. They would be unable to go to ground in an emergency, far from reinforcements, and subject to winds very different f...

Flinder dropped to the ground, hard on all fours. His crew jolted in the harness from the sudden shock, but he didn't seem to notice. Instead, he hung his head, breathing hard, and not making eye contact with anyone. The crew disembarked rapidly, glad to be alive and out of the nightmare, but still ...
