#1 Starcraft Broodwar - Anyone Play Online?

Post by Squidgey »

Greetings everybody,

My computer is not great. As such I am severely limited in what games I can play online. Recently, I've been playing Starcraft Broodwars online on the US East servers, under the username of Capitalist_Dog. I'm not fantastic at the game, but am slowly learning how to play and am actually getting the hang of a Protoss fleet (at least carrier spam with observers and arbiters anyways), and love doing turret rushes.

If anybody has a copy of said game and does play on line, send me a pm or catch me on msn at:

australian_ent@hotmail.com

And we can sort a game. Just make sure to tell me you're from here as with over 300 msn contacts, the vast majority being gamers from one of a variety of online MMO's and other games played online, my memory isn't as great with who is who as it once was (hence, modifying usernames to say who is who and basic background stuff - eg: Freddy Soul {Freddy, Ogame, Latvia, Baltic Sea}).

Cheers everyone,

Luke.

I have the game, but never really got into the whole online thing.

I actually don't think battle.net works on linux though.... but if it does, I might be up for a round next weekend.

Sad to say my copy lives with my little brother otherwise the Marines would be on it. Anyone have thoughts on Starcraft II?

I haven't seen much of it. From what I have seen, the graphics look shiny, but the new units don't really seem all that new. I haven't seen anything more substantive, so I can't say much more, good or bad.

It's Blizzard. It'll be excellent, or it won't be released.
Never shall innocent blood be shed, yet the blood of the wicked shall flow like a river.

The three shall spread their blackened wings and be the vengeful striking hammer of god.

I'm waiting for Diablo 3, myself.

You've heard there won't be any LAN play right? Battlenet only. They're claiming it's to protect players and discourage piracy. How this does anything but encourage folks to download Battlenet emulators (thus strengthening piracy) I don't know...

No LAN? How the hell does no LAN discourage piracy?

That's fucking stupid. I wasn't too interested in Starcraft 2 to begin with.

No LAN?! That's pointless. Hell, half the games I ever played of Starcraft or Broodwars were LAN games at parties at my house. Kind of defeats the purpose..
