Firefox has been bitchy to me with several things lately, which makes me disappointed.
In the meantime, the
Opera web browser functions just as well as Firefox, and is also a free download. Addons like Ghostery, Ad-Aware, and Citrix are all available to work within Opera as well.

I haven't used Firefox since... um... 2008? I think I used Firefox 1.5, stubbornly refusing to switch to Version 2 when it came out because it was too bloated, and then Version 3 was even worse, so I decided to fuck that shit and switch to Opera. Been using it since, albeit with a couple of Chrome interludes. I admit I found Chrome's UI more intuitive, but Opera doesn't gobble up memory like a starving man at an all you can eat buffet. Also, I can close the Opera window and have all my tabs come back next time I initiate the program. In Chrome this feature only existed if the program crashed. Think about that for a moment, I had to deliberately crash Chrome in order to get access to a feature. What kind of bullshit is that?

Yeah, that's pretty weak sauce. To be fair to Google though, they did get the whole last-tabs-you-had-open thing working on a normal basis since then... but yeah, Opera did it better, and first. Then again, Opera still has a special place in the dark space formerly occupied by my heart, in that for a long time not only did Opera work just as well as it's competitors, and with a lower memory footprint... but you could fit the installer onto a 1.44MB floppy disk.
Of course, such days are long since gone - but it's low footprint, and the philosophy of using a minimalistic installer has not changed. It's just as good for its time now as it was when I first began using it, and that's a rare thing nowadays.
