#1 Not sure if this is where this goes:need help

Sb's computer has been acting all wonky on me the past few days. Today it was being especially retarded, and after I restarted that damn thing all of the book marks have gone bye bye.
SB said something about doing a system recovery back through a few days ago... But I have not idea how to do that. And since he's not here and I need a couple of those book marks.. can someone help?
I'd be eternally greatful!

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore
Back up anything you may have saved between then and now, just to be on the safe side.

Chances are if the bookmarks are gone, so is the contents of the history sidebar.
I'd try a Last Known Good reboot just to be on the safe side but personally I suspect those links are gone for good. Sorry, Rukia.
Okay, where the hell does FF keep its bookmarks?

Thing is the history is there but there was research i did for the wedding and stuff that I hadn't visited. there was almost a years worth of bookmarks that are gone... grrrrrr.

Alright, hit start, run>
%APPDATA%\mozilla\firefox\profiles\
A folder will pop up with a subfolder. It'll be what seems to be a bunch of random characters followed by .default
inside is a folder marked bookmarkbackups and a bookmarks.html.
These should be your bookmarks.

Ok any Ideas on how to get them back from more than say a week ago? I had them pulled up and haven't had the chance to goes through them all and rebookmark them. And it looks as though it deletes them after so many days... (the html file I need is from 4-25 the last one available is 4-27) are they completely lost now?
please tell me that they're not....
