I just got the game, and I'm interested in playing but I got the following problems.

It declares application d3dx9_35.dll not found. I'm guessing this is a DirectX thing?

Also, there's no fricken manuel in the box?!?

It is indeed. I suggest reinstalling DirectX/installing the one that came with the game if you didn't already (just because the version already installed is newer doesn't mean it'll work better with that game).
As for the manual, have you checked if there's one on the game discs?
While I heartily agree a proper game needs a printed manual, game manufacturers often don't see it the same way.

There don't appear to be any versions of direct X with the game.

If there is, I'm not seeing it!

That's certainly unusual. Games that need DirectX (which these days essentially means all of them) usually come with it attached.
Reinstall whatever happens to be your version of DirectX, then.

Well as I'm assuming you're neither blind nor stupid, either return the game to wherever you bought it and ask for a box that's actually complete or call the manufacturer's customer support to find out either where and how to find the manual or if there WAS supposed to be a printed one, have one shipped to you? And better make it FAST or this was the last of their games you bought?

it happens especially if your running vista.

do a search for the file on google, and you'll find a website which actually lets you download all those commmonly missing dll's and will tell you where to install it at.

d3dx9_35.dll is one I've often had missing on fresh installs of OS's when I put games on the box.

Okay got it downloaded and patched on my computer...

The bloody graphics aren't working right, I'm getting a field of blue cut up by red lines with flags on them.

Son of a Bitch.

Why the hell does that game, with... the innovation of 3d game pieces, need Pixel Shader 2.0? What in the hell?

Alright, consider it a christmas gift. Boot up the computer that is lying on your floor and see what kind of graphics card it is running. It is a 4 year old ATI card IIRC but I dont know what model it was.

Once you have that, let me know and I will see if it has Pixel Shader support
