Hotfoot got me hooked on this game from Stardock (at the time though, to be fair, they were having a "buy this game for $5 for Christmas!" sale). I'm impressed; though there are some irritating text-based RPG mini-quests, overall it's a fun game. I'd recommend trying it.

Oh man, I remember playing the first Star Rangers back in the mid 90's. That game was SO much fun.

Space Rangers 2 is still awesome under Win7.
