Though I really haven't been playing video games anywhere near as much as I used to, the game XCOM: UFO Defense still holds a special place in my heart.
All the "XCOM-alike" games I've seen are sorely lacking in one respect or another - but this game really does look to be true to the spirit of that old shrine of nostalgia, XCOM: UFO Defense.
The only downside is that the dev team mentioned that there won't be a Blaster Launcher analogue, which means no more creating your own doors in UFO's. On the other hand, it looks like they're balancing the game so soldiers' deaths are much less random, and much more dependent upon the tactics used. To me, that's a fair trade.
