Welp, i did Nazi that coming.
Sorry, i was expecting to get to use this image, but since he won i was caught unprepared and must resort to inaccurate puns. Trump is obviously not classy enough to be a Nazi. Also he hates Muslims and loves Jews, that's like inverse Nazi. Oh and he has bad hair instead of a bad moustache! Plus he's cozing up to Russia instead of invading it! Trump confirmed for Inverse Nazi. Hail Hydra! Oh wait no, those are just plain Nazis. Um hail... Trump... Tower? Never mind. The point is despite the left's epic meltdown on the internet and the huge upswell in delicious liberal tears, Trump is probably not a fascist. It's just that i was planning on making a joke after the election was over, so by god i'm going to make a joke!
More seriously though, this is the second time i get to say this with respect to Trump: This was very much not how i was expecting the election to turn out, and the same for everyone else i know. We've been telling each other than Trump would never be President since the summer of 2015, and here he is President-Elect. The man continues to surprise the hell out of me, so at this point i frankly don't know what to expect going forward, he defies expectations of every sort. Hell his victory speech was fairly sedate, conciliatory, and uplifting! Most candidates pivot towards the centre after winning their Primary, Trump apparently realized he had a winning combination and waited until after he got elected to finally act Presidential. Except i didn't think he could act Presidential even for one speech!
Granted i was not completely surprised by the outcome, the polls suggested a close election and close elections pretty much by definition can go either way. So i knew a Trump victory was in the cards, but the hand looked to me to be mostly Clintons. Hell perhaps it was, but in the end it all came up Trumps. It seems that Scotts Adams was right, and the shy voters were the Trump card.
Anyway, a moment like this deserves a commemorative quote:
"Could you imagine if Donald Trump was President?"
"Pfft, that'll happen the right after the Cubs win the World Series."
