Yahoo wrote:Seven anti-war protesters are being held after campaigners boarded a plane at a British airport to search for US weapons being transported to Israel.
Two men and a woman were arrested after getting onto a military plane at Prestwick Airport, Ayrshire, in the early hours.
Police confirmed a further four people - two men and two women - were also arrested at the airport at around 3.30am.
Anti-nuclear campaign group Trident Ploughshares said its activists had boarded a US plane while carrying out an investigation into the British government's involvement in the transport of arms to Israel.
The group named the members involved in this morning's action as Marcus Armstrong, 46, from Milton Keynes, Chris Bluemel, 35, from Southampton, and Angie Zelter, 55, from Norfolk.
Sarah Lasenby, 68, from Oxford, Douglas Shaw, 56, and Jean Oliver, 48, both from Biggar, South Lanarkshire, and Matt Bury, 50, from Somerset, also took part in the investigation, it said.
They are all expected to appear in court tomorrow.
I'm against the war, but it's a wee bit stupid to break into a military plane - it's not really the type of protest which is within your legal right.

Bloody hell... How hard is this to grasp, stay off the military equipment. This shit is expensive, complex and if you have no clue what you're doing (and if you're a protestor climbing onto military equipment you have abolsutly no fucking clue what you're doing) dangerous, not just to you but to others.
Maybe you would be happy to die in the course of your little protest, but I and the rest of the uniformed "faceless thugs" prefer to avoid matyrdom.

Now if I could only explain that to the military flight crew...
But yeah, stay out of our equipment... really. It breaks enough as it is and is very fragile, delicate and finiky as well as tempermental as all hell. We don't need a bunch of civilians there looking around fucking it up more then it already is. Let me tell you, it's a miricle the things get off the ground as is. We don't need any help thank you.
Go protest in front of the plane or something. Or right in front of the engines. At least then you'll be out of the way.

That's not nice. Effective, but not nice.
And frankly while I'm not exactly enamored with this war they had it coming. Leaving alone that I very much doubt they were authorized to be on the flight line in the first place (leave alone around a military airplane) they boarded said plane. You want to protest the war? Do it on a public street somewhere.
Sometimes I think some of the people protesting wars are just as stupid as those who wage them.
