#1 Edwards Endorses Obama.

Post by SirNitram »

Edwards, with 18 Pledged delegates and 1 Superdelegate, has endorsed Barack Obama. More if I can find an article.

The immediate impact questions:

1) Does this get him 19 more delegate votes, dropping him to a mere 120 before we look into how many Superdels he trickled out today?

Answer: Probably. These people were solidly Edwards and haven't indicated a change yet, despite him being out. Nothing ironclad.

2) Why now?

Answer: Announcing any earlier would be of minimal use. This was the day when everyone knew Hillary would have a huge win with no corresponding Obama victories, and she'd be gnawing on the headlines. This effectively eradicates that.

3) Edward's future?

Answer: Unclear. More and more we hear the phrase 'Attorney General'. If it gets too loud, expect every big corporation to begin shitting bricks and attacking Obama.
Half-Damned, All Hero.

Tev: You're happy. You're Plotting. You're Evil.
Me: Evil is so inappropriate. I'm ruthless.
Tev: You're turning me on.

Attorney General wouldn't be a bad one for Edwards. Sure as hell beats Ashcroft and Gonzales.
Gaze upon my works, ye mighty, and despair...

Hotfoot: "Yes, which is reasonable."

Attorney General is perfect for Edwards. His record is pretty consistently in favour of the little guy and decidedly against the big conglomerates. It has been far too long since this country has seen some serious trust busting, we are due for another round and I think Edwards is the man for the job.
