Biden's got three things which make him noteworthy, really.

1) He's the only Senator to use Amtrak to commute to work daily. He had originally planned to move to D.C., but the family tragedy caused him to remain where he was. He just rides the train. As I've rode the same stretch, I can tell you you will get more insight into the regular guy's life looking out those windows than you will ever get in a complex with six houses on it, even if your name is John Shirley McCain and you're a War Hero.

2) Lowest net worth of any Senator. The most probable number is negative.

3) Unlike virtually all other Democrats, his reaction to Republicans on foreign policy and other nonsense they spew is to openly mock them and show how full of it they are. Even Obama lacks the sheer fire the man can and does channel when stupid rears it's head.

My only issue with Biden is his less then appealing stances when it comes to dealing with the RIAA/MPAA and privacy laws in general. Personally, I don't like the guy, but I like McCain/Palin less.

There's unfortunately a plethora of folks on that line. For the RIAA/MPAA however, market forces are clubbing them so hard they will eventually relent.
