#1 Any excuse, any reason, to stop Obama

Those who watched the inaugeration know there was a fub during the Oath Of Office. Justice Stevens didn't bring his notes, and, well.

Constitutional experts say it means nothing(Link) but admit the conspiracy theorists will come out.

Hey, what's on Fox?
MEGYN KELLY (Fox News anchor): And I will tell you, I asked these folks how they felt about the chief justice flubbing the oath a little bit, which, for me, as somebody who covered the Supreme Court, was a bit of a surprise. They felt the way I felt, which was, it's nice to see that even the chief justice of the United States and our new president can get a little nervous on the big days -- Chris.

WALLACE: You know, Megyn, I -- I have to say, I'm not sure that Barack Obama really is the president of the United States, because the oath of office is set in the Constitution.

And I wasn't at all convinced that, even after he tried to amend it, that John Roberts ever got it out straight and that Barack Obama ever said the prescribed words. I suspect that everybody is going to forgive him and allow him to take over as president. But I'm not sure he actually said what's in the Constitution there.

BRIT HUME (Fox News senior political analyst): And, Chris, if it ever got to the Supreme Court, you would have to know there would be at least one vote in favor of letting him stay in.

WALLACE: That's right. That's true.

KELLY: Good point.

WALLACE: Brit is saying, Megyn, that, at the Supreme Court, that John Roberts will definitely vote that, yes, he has taken the proper oath of office.

KELLY: That's a very good point. That sounds like a case for "Kelly's Court."
Okay, perhaps they're just self-aggradizing, let's go forward a day..
BRIAN KILMEADE (co-host): Can we stop scheduling events for Barack Obama and let him be president?

CARLSON: Well, but, here's the thing. Is he really president?

DOOCY: Yes.

CARLSON: Is he really president?

DOOCY: He really is president.

CARLSON: Because there was a flub in the oath of office. There was a flub by Chief Justice Roberts -- I'm sure he wants this moment back, by the way, but now it's in tape in history forever, where he screwed up the word "faithfully," at least the order of it.

It was supposed to go like this, "I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States." Instead he said, "I will execute the office of president of the United States faithfully," and Barack Obama knew there was a mistake there. So there was this kind of a hesitation.

KILMEADE: Yeah, you can fix it.

CARLSON: Oh, here it is.

DOOCY: Let's watch.
....And so it goes. Aware of this utter bullshit, Obama scheduled an in-house do-over with Justice Stevens. What's right-wing media outlet Drudge News, venerated by various cable and print news writers, think?
NO BIBLE USED AT OBAMA RE-SWEAR...
Which just links to an article explaining it was a do-over.

I've said that there's a growing portion of the GOP who will feel any democratic presidency is illegitimate.. And they're grabbing the bullhorns.

Getting incantations right is important business.

No, they're Republica-oh wait, same difference...nevermind. As you were.

Look, I am by all admissions and charges(Looking at you here Frig...) one of the most paranoid conspiracy theorist nutjobs on this board if not THE most. And the man is the fucking president. Yes, I chuckled when they flubbed the lines, but he's the fucking Prez. End. Of. Story. Fuck people, just let it the fuck go. He's a man who has made history and knows that his presidency may verywell be one of the most important ones in the history of our country and will either massively bridge whatever remaining racial divide there may be, despite hinderances from Sharpton and Jackson, or he will fuck up and set back black politics decades. The man stepped up to take the oath to assume the position of power over one of the largest most influencial countries in the world. Pretty fucking big event. I'd be a bit nervous too.

This is seriously just more right-wing political manuvering bullshit, any excuse to try to fuck with the new president. If it had been McCain up there you can bet your asses "He's the president and those liberal conspiracy theorist nutjobs out there just want to keep him down and out of office! The man took the oath and it's done!" would be the response.

Kinda glad this is all they have to whine about. When it's all petty stuff, it means there's nothing large to worry about :P.

The Congressional ones are delaying nominees frivolously. Holder is delayed because of two concerns: He'll prosecute those who violated the law over torture, and he is linked to BILL CLINTON AYIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

Literally, a signifigant part is entirely 'I want to drag out every legal question about Clinton, no matter how spurious then or now, and drill on Holder for it. Because he was Clinton's Lawyer!''

It's an automatic reflex for conservatives. They can no more restrain their urge to rip on the Clintons than any of us could will our hearts to stop beating.

Though to be fair modern Republicans are less like the involuntary beating of a heart and more like the involuntary contractions of the inner anal sphincter.

Well our hearts don't work as well for pumping the black ichor of dread and hatred that animates us as we go about our endless work to devour the souls of innocent children, that we might sate our neverending hunger.

I mean, realistically, what can you do? :)
