Ugh.

This sort of thing is partially a product of the objectification of women in popular culture, IMHO. :mad:

I'm not totally surprised that the good, old fashioned "bitch had it coming" excuse is still alive and kicking but I am disappointed.

You know even some of the rumors at work were true (one has the girl telling him she has Herpes for example...)

He choked her out. It's in the police report, when they got there, she was passed out and being choked. Even if she struck first as some reports suggest that is way to far and the fucker needs to go to jail.

Perhaps as a part of a more comprehensive sex-ed program a unit could be included about identifying and fighting abuse and sexism; I don't know if this has been included in prior units and there may not be another means of getting the message to kids, unless there were to be a spontaneous cultural revolution in hip-hop against hypermasculinity (not likely, it sells well).
