As we've seen, Lou Dobbs is a "birther".
Gordon Liddy is one too, apparently. Liddy plus
more idiots being given time on Fox.
Apparently, even
Ann Coulter thinks they're full of it. So does
Bill O'Reilly (though I thought it was amusing how he defended Lou Dobbs against allegations that he was only trying to boost his ratings). It's saying quite a lot when these two say you're wrong.
Also, Liddy is claiming that the Certificate of Live Birth carries no weight as opposed to the Birth Certificate. I thought that was the other way around? :/

Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly are saying they're full of shit? Man, you know it's bad when they won't play ball.

Sometimes I wonder if this is a secret plot by the DNC to make the Republicans look bad. Then I realise that no American political party is that good at keeping things secret. Still, that woman speaking up for the birthers, I have to admit that I have a hard time thinking she's real... she's just so... deranged.

*sighs, as her Pet Peeve is again exposed*
You are right, Minx. What most people think of as the 'Birth Certificate' is usually the Mother's (or 'Heirloom') Copy given to the mother by the hospital. It's big, with pretty gold seals and gilding, and it has two uses.
1. The mother can put it in her baby book to keep.
2. She can check the spelling of names.
The Certificate of Live Birth is the true 'birth certificate', as it is the one that goes on file at State, County, and sometimes Local level. This is the only certificate that is accepted as Legal when trying to enter your child into school, to get an ID card (drivers or otherwise), to get a Passport, to sign up for Social Security card or benefits, or to prove your ID for employment.
But I think this says it best:

And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks that
the birther movement is a liberal conspiracy. Mind you I was kidding when I suggested it, but there seems to be a lot of conservative pundits that are suggesting it in all earnest.

That comic is great, and says it all. Even if he were to produce the heirloom copy, they'd say it was fake. Wasn't there some talk about the "original documents" too regarding the CLB?

They would have to claim that Gordon Liddy is a liberal then. And
Rush Limbaugh. And
Michael Savage and Jerome Corsi.
Liddy's actually saying in that video I linked to that BHO is an
illegal immigrant! I mean, golly.

Christ people, let it go already. He was elected President by a clear margin, and he has 3.5ish years to convince everyone that he's doing a decent enough job to get another 4 years at it. If this is the most important thing they have to discuss, I'm HAPPY about that. Means nothing else of serious importance is happening I guess

As good as that may seem, I'm a bit worried about this. While right-wing nuts have been able to bitch, scream, and complain about Clinton and Reno and such, they at least seemed to recognize them as legitimate officials of the government (well, except for the militia kooks who believed the entire federal government was illegitimate).
The "Birther" movement's perspective is that Obama is
illegitimate. Therefore every single thing he does in government is illegal in their eyes. His Presidency is "illegal" and he is an usurper to that point of view. Which is an especially potent feeling in these politically charged times.
