And the House of Representatives have reached quorum, voiting to remove DADT.

It isn't gone yet, the legislation hasn't passed the Senate yet, nor has it been signed, and it only gives the Pentagon the authority to end DADT when they've done a study on the effects of ending DADT which has yet to be reviewed by them. So there are still hurdles remaining.

I thought for the most part the study was more a "How do we incorporate gays into the military" study, not a "Do we let gays into the military" study.
