Any word on the release date? Are they going to do it after the book with the Psionic classes?

There's not even any absolutely set in stone confirmation, but they are clearly working on it. I'd wager Dark Sun needs to wait until at least after Eberron next year, sadly. But it's great to see actual folks in there looking at how to translate the stuff into the new ruleset.
