They weren't along the way. They were adjacent to the hex where you stopped.

It still applies to his movement and the tumble negates that (in 3.0 and 3.5, not in Arcana Evolved). Of course, he can only go 20 feet if he's tumbling and that might not be enough to reach them, especially if there's movement penalties for terrain.
It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

Ah, you're right. They were 18 feet away on somewhat uneven terrain; I'll give it to Jason. Those AoO missed anyway, I just won't write their attacks into the IC post.

And, it's time to brawl. Keep the same init order as before (as below)

CynCat: 9
CT: 11
AN: 16
Jason: 16
Haizu: 17
rogue9: 19

Goblin 1 Init
Goblin 2 Init
Goblin 3 Init
Goblin 4 Init

Not a bad thing, by any means - I just did the extra work now so I could be lazy later.

The round currently concluding is the technical first round, where the dretschan could close in and make nuisances of themselves. Next round will be played by the numbers.

The rest of this round will consist of the Dretschans eating more goblins, leaving you with the four listed above.

I have no clue. My Listen roll was crummy, but I haven't acted. Do I have an action? Don't know.

3, 5, 6, and 8.

Each will take damage this round.

However, the bat swarm hasn't been getting near enough description - I'll edit that in.

If 3 was hit then it had to make a DC 11 Fortitude save in order to not be naseauated by the swarm clawing and biting at ears and lips and other sensitive points. And they are all now bleeding. It will probably make the save, but still, needs to be done.

Good point - here they go:

Dretschan 3 (fort save DC 11):
Dretschan 5 (fort save DC 11):
Dretschan 6 (fort save DC 11):
Dretschan 8 (fort save DC 11):

To reiterate what has been said elsewhere, I do believe the 'Mwahahahaha!' is not only a necessary verbal component to the summon swarm spell, but appears to have done an excellent job in convincing the dice roller to side with me.

In the spirit of November 4th, and also because we have many experienced D&D veterans in this group, I'm going to put a few mechanical gameplay decisions up for a vote.

Matter the first: free actions.
According to the rules, a maximum of four free actions can be taken in one round by one character. My decision initially was to restrict this to one possible free action in a round, along with one swift action in a round, and so on.

Do you vote:
Yes: one free action per round per character
No: a maximum of four free actions in one round per character.

Matter the second: free actions as other actions.
Jason_Firewalker's proposal is to allow casting of a spell that would be a free action as a move or standard action instead.
His argument:
Jason_Firewalker via IM wrote:Well you know that in movement you can take a move and a standard or a move and another move as a full round action, so why not be able to replace a move or standard action, each worth 3 to 6 seconds with a free action worth less then .1 seconds?
11:10:14 PM
as for that matter why not be able to take a series of free actions?
Do you vote:
Yes: Allow replacement of move actions and standard actions with free actions.
No: Keep as is, allowing no replacement of actions in the above manner.

I await all of your decisions. You may PM me with your decision, or post it in this thread - I leave the decision to you.

Leave the rules as written. Everyone understands them and very few things are free actions anymore as 3.5 changed most free action effects into swift actions. The option of burning a move or a standard action for a swift action remains.

I agree with Cyncat, that just sounds confusing and his logic is sound.

I say "Nyet" on both proposals, they don't really make sense to me and they look like they are designed to cause abuse.

Thats the thing is that the rules, as written, allowed a set of free actions during your turn but when they came out with swift and immediate actions there was no listing on how many you could take... so its up to us as a group to decide.
