So not going to happen.
It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

I auto'd nobody. None of them were necessarily seriously injured or incapacitated.
Are heroes supposed to back down when villains posture in a superhero game?
Gone.

After a brief chat with Cyn in AIM, apparently the game is dead without him. So, here's the request for yea's and nay's. If you want to continue on in the game, toss in a vote. If not, game ends, life goes on.

I didn't say it was dead without me, I said you killed it.

Let's review:
Villian comes in, tells the heroes to leave. Leader is defiant, gets fragged.
Rest of the team sees leader cut down in front of them. Will the SUPERHEROES:
A. Retreat with their tails between their legs, forgetting that this all happened and get on with their lives
B. Become enraged at the death of their leader who, despite his flaws, is central to the reasons why many characters got started doing this thing in the first place, and then attack Supervillian in a mindless rage.
And if he could autokill Blackheart, it stands to reason he could kill us each in turn. Hence, party wipe, everyone dies.
Even assuming that we fall back for now, EVERYTHING WE DO will revolve around killing this badass. After all, not only did he kill Blackheart, but he is most likely at the center of this conspiracy that resulted in lots of death and suffering. This has ceased to be a throwaway encounter and instead becomes the doom of the party.

Party isn't wiped. I can think of a few ways off the top of my head that the party at this point can triumph and win if they decide to use their heads instead of slug it out at close range. And considering every one of the group at the moment is a ranged combatant it shouldn't prove too hard to come up with a solution.

Actually, yes Cyn, you are going to be stopped by me. Blackheart is dead. You want to kill one or two of them in a final blast, go for it. I'll allow it and approve of it hands down to end this entire thing that has gone on for far too long. However, no, you are not going to do the headswap thing.12:47] ImperialFeline: I'll be autokilling two of your dudes.
[12:48] BraidedShinigami: hard when you're dead and gone, isn't it?
[12:48] ImperialFeline: head is still alive. And that's enough.
[12:49] BraidedShinigami: that works. The rings are going completely innert in the next post anyway to finish it all off
[12:50] ImperialFeline: a human remains conscious for about ten seconds, barring shock, after decapitation. Blackheart's biology is much more resilient. On of the casualties will be a body jack in progress.
[12:50] BraidedShinigami: excuse me?
[12:50] BraidedShinigami: the decapitation - flash beam death I see and understand
[12:51] BraidedShinigami: Blackheart has never exhibited any mind transferal powers
[12:51] ImperialFeline: Whose brain is full of black threads of alien tissue?
[12:51] ImperialFeline: That has hacked his central nervous system and his entire body?
[12:51] BraidedShinigami: And you had a solid chunk of it buried in your chest to work from
[12:51] ImperialFeline: Yes. But now it's sentient.
[12:52] ImperialFeline: And all over his skull.
[12:52] BraidedShinigami: I'm not sure what you think it is you're going to be done. Kill them, fine. But you're not mind-swapping with them
[12:52] ImperialFeline: It's not going to be accomplished in one post.
[12:53] BraidedShinigami: you're right, it's not going to be accomplished at all. You're not suddenly pulling a whole new power out of thin air to circumvent Blackheart's death
[12:54] ImperialFeline: Well, I've actually thought about similar shit since character concept. And I'm not going to be stopped by you.

I have been on the fence about the Heroes game for sometime now. It has been difficult for me to be motivated enough to work on a post, for a thread that in my mind has been giving me less and less to be excited about. The last burst of shenanigans makes it clear that there is no reason or incentive to continue playing this game. Frankly, my faith that B4 can adequately pull this game around has taken a huge hit. As a result, I am pulling out of the game. I will be posting one or two posts to give my character some closure as soon as I am able to. I had fun with the game for a while, so I want to thank my roleplay partners for that.

I do have another character set to go, if the game continues, but I am not going to play for now.

Ok.
I've read the posts that caused this.
Cyncat, you auto'd hits to the two lesser Big Bads. You knew better.
B4, you countered with an autokill. Yeah, DM privledge, but really fuckin' weak. Blackheart's been set up as hard to kill, wanked or not. Yes, you want Blackheart to learn a lesson. At least give the fucker a chance to fight back.

I was going to stay out of this, but I came upon a bit of a revelation I believe.
Essentially, whatever bullshit is going on in here needs to fucking end.
Now.
I don't give a fuck who started it, I don't give a fuck who did what and who's precious fucking ego got bruised.
If this shitfest were limited to just Heroes I'd be fine with it, I dropped out of the game so it's no longer my concern. But the retarded bullshit in here has spread to other games and has brought them to a screeching halt because people in this game have been focused on the utter retardation that has been going on. So knock it the fuck off and grow up, you're fucking with other people's gaming experiences.

I'm tired of this already, and rather than just stew, let's put this on the table.
Charon is right about this spilling over into other games, and frankly, it does need to stop. Maybe giving all the major parties a swift kick in the groin will help, maybe it won't, but there's a lot of bad blood here and no amount of pussyfooting will resolve it. Every one of you has screwed up and you've got to own up to it and maybe even try to see things from the other party's side.
DS, you went overboard with your plot for Saibot, you took liberties early on and you just let it get out of control. When your new character didn't make the cut, largely due to you not making a character that was in line with the rest of the party's effective power level, you went back to playing a character that had been removed from play for in-game reasons. That should NOT have happened, you should have just sucked it up, made an appropriately powered character, and moved on. That you're ready to do that now speaks well of you, and I hope that you are ready to leave this whole mess behind.
B4, you went along with this plan to appease DS. That was a mistake, and instead of nipping it in the bud, you just let it grow. Your response to a player taking advantage of the freedom you allowed was to validate it, rather than stopping it once a line was crossed. There needed to be limits stopping players from going too far. Balance by saying "you can all do the same if you so choose" is not appropriate in this case. Part of being a GM is setting boundaries of what a player can or cannot do and then enforcing them yourself. All too often you've relied on letting others do your confrontation for you. I understand where you're coming from, but at the end of the day you are in control of your game, and if something is going on that you don't like, you should be the one to talk to the players in question about it. You're starting to take control now, which is good, albiet late in coming. What we need to do now is calm down and work out the best way to resolve the current issue.
Which brings me to CynCat. Dude you've gone overboard on the haterade. I don't like what's happened either, but even before your character was autokilled, you were getting downright ABUSIVE to people who did not deserve it. It's a game, if you're not having fun, walk away, it's honestly that simple. I know it sucks, but sometimes that is what needs to be done. Offer constructive criticism if someone asks you why, and that's it. You've been on a hair trigger for a while now and it's getting old. You're a decent guy, you just need to chill out a bit. No, you don't have to be nice about everything, but being a fucking asshole doesn't make people listen that well most of the time. When people get pissed off, they don't think straight, and people tend to get pissed off when they're being constantly berated.
Now, as for ME. I've not been happy about all of this, but I've tried to be direct in talking with people about it as best as I can. I may have been short with some people, and if I've pissed people off, even with this post, I apologize. I'm simply trying to do what I can to get everyone past this, because as far as I see, just ignoring it will only cause it to stew quietly until it boils over later. You all can get along, and while I don't expect us all to get along and send Christmas Cards to each other, we can at least come to some common ground here. If that means that some people don't want to play with each other anymore, or at least for a while, then so be it.
Okay, so now I've put my bit on the table. Love it or Hate it, that's how I see it and that's what I feel needed to be said.
As for my opinion on the game itself, that's another post. Interpersonal conflicts supercede games, end of story. No friendships should end because of a damn game.

This is just another event that causes me to wonder on the wisdom of continuing this game. It stirs up alot of anger, the foolish choices, and I'm not even touching the auto-kill yet. Indeed, I must say I reflexively cringed at the Airless Room repeated itself.
To hell with that; where's the plot? Random chaos is fine in small doses, but what is the plot? Where's it going? When would it be theoretically touched upon? Even if the ranged attackers annihilated the Guardians here, we have crap to clean up from it.
Throw in the utterly arbitrary nature of the powers and alot of arguments show up.

There's some truth to that and I've probably been over the line more than once and for that I apologize.Hotfoot wrote: You're a decent guy, you just need to chill out a bit. That doesn't happen in a vacuum.
Most of the time my nice and polite objections have been ignored so I stopped making them (except in say Havoc's game where they get consideration). That has ramped up my frustration and irritation levels and that is pretty much my ugliest mood (I can do a good job table top GMing angry, but I won't do it when I'm frustrated and irritable). When I'm nasty my actions and objections at least gets noticed, which is an improvement over nothing at all.
