Yes, there is. You get one swift action per turn. If you use an immediate action, it takes up your swift action on your next turn. There are mechanics to get more in third party rules, but nothing WotC ever published. The introduction of swift actions didn't change the mechanics of the free action; the only change to free actions was that some free actions became swift actions, but it never changed how many free actions you could take.

ok so rhoenix, with that stated is there a way to use multiple frees in one round?

With these actions you have in mind, could you give a concrete and thorough example of what you mean?Jason_Firewalker wrote:ok so rhoenix, with that stated is there a way to use multiple frees in one round?

Free actions by their nature aren't going to be of very much use in the immediate term, unless somebody's hauling some very specific items that are out of our character wealth range. I'm not sure why we're having this discussion unless it's for something cheesy that probably doesn't work the way you think it does.

I'm seeing the feat Quicken Spell (the heart of Jason Firewalker's question) being listed as using a Swift Action in 3.5, not a Free Action in both the crystalkeep files and in Complete Arcane. Can I get a confirmation from someone else who has hard copies?

Jason Firewalker has withdrawn his request.rhoenix wrote:I'm seeing the feat Quicken Spell (the heart of Jason Firewalker's question) being listed as using a Swift Action in 3.5, not a Free Action in both the crystalkeep files and in Complete Arcane. Therefore: Free actions, swift actions, move actions, and standard action will count as per the 3.5 rules.

So everyone's gone and we're all the way around already? Okay, you say so. I don't recall results; did I hit anything?

No you did not. So since Jason hit with a 21 and you missed with a 20, they are now confirmed as having AC 21. So yes, now it's a brand new turn, and Grer is up at bat again.Rogue 9 wrote:So everyone's gone and we're all the way around already? Okay, you say so. I don't recall results; did I hit anything?
Academia Nut, since you've the best chance of rolling your knowledge skill and having it apply to these things once combat's over, by all means roll it once the dust settles.

BECAUSE THE DM DIDN'T GIVE ME AN ANSWER THE FIRST TIME!
So, do I have an action? Was I skipped because my Listen roll wasn't good enough? If I don't have one fine, but I want to know where the fuck I stand.Cynical Cat wrote: I have no clue. My Listen roll was crummy, but I haven't acted. Do I have an action? Don't know.
It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

My apologies for the lack of communication - because of your low Listen check, correct, you did not have an action that round.Cynical Cat wrote:So, do I have an action? Was I skipped because my Listen roll wasn't good enough? If I don't have one fine, but I want to know where the fuck I stand.

Concentrating on maintaining the summon swarm spell and moving away. If someone with better charisma might convince the remaining goblins to stick with us they might make useful meat shiel... err... allies in this battle.

I could try, I have a decent bluff...
