Nice shot. Alright, that definitely stirred up a hornet's nest. Saidin's made his action, so everyone else gets one free action (if your character is ready to perform one), and then roll initiative.

In advance:

Thor initiative:
Feya initiative:
Loki initiative:
Liu initiative:
Thor - taken 20 damage (saidin, scorched ray r0)
Liu
Feya
Loki

Actually, no - this was an idea of mine well before I started reading 8-bit Theatre. I always wanted to run a D&D campaign in which the PC's met the Light Warriors and revealed them to be frauds.

One giveaway is that this group's actually letting the Fighter do their talking for them...

Initiative for the combat round, as I am ghetto-counterspelling with my action during the Surprise round.

However, because that is high enough to ghetto-counterspell regardless... the lightning is being released this round (with GM permission... his suggestion actually)

In light of Volans' initiative, I'll allow you an action during the Surprise round (now), and a ghetto-counterspelling by means if Storm Bolt next round.

That should be 6 to Loki. You round down half points in D&D.

Why reroll? Why bother with rolling at all if bad results won't stand?

I do tend to agree with CynCat. Sometimes re-rolling for the sake of mercy or being magnanimous in the face of certain death can be beneficial. But not for initiative...

It doesn't particularly matter to me either way (for obvious reasons) but I'll take whatever I get, good or ill and if the DM tells me otherwise (well, I will bitch if I get overruled on a roll in my favour) I'll do otherwise.

Still, rerolling for initiative is a little silly.

This is a long-standing rule I've always played with, so my apologies for not elaborating on it before.

If you roll a 1 on a 20-sided die for a reason other than rolling to hit or rolling a save, you may reroll.

If all of you disagree with this, I'll change it to "keep all rolls unless I explicitly say otherwise" - I leave it up to all of you.

(EDIT: Added "or rolling a save")

I presume saving throws are included in there as they are about as important as hit rolls when it comes to 1s.

Anyway, here's the attack roll for my summoned creature against the cleric, presuming Volan doesn't wipe them out first.

Slam damage
Fire damage (only requires beating touch AC as far as I can tell)

Oh, and if the slam attack hits then the cleric requires a DC 12 reflex save or will be set on fire for rounds.

Well the damage rolls sucked, but let's see if I can't confirm this critical.
