That particular weapon comes with an internal smartgun system. So unless I missed a distinction in there somewhere...

Gentlemen, we have our first winner. Ben has tried to sneak in an armoured helmet as a bowler hat by pushing the fact the description uses the phrase "available in a variety of styles" to transform it into not a fucking helmet.

Anyone want to guess what he's won?

This is a world with armored business suits. If it earns me scorn, by all means mock me. You would do that at some point anyway.

That said, I noticed a mathematical error in expenditures, and fixed it.

Yes, on a piece of gear bought in the same subsection as riot shields and its description never once mentioning that it can pass as ordinary clothing, unlike armoured business suits. On a character less than two hours before the game and with no contrition whatsoever.

Tell me how pleased I am with this?

I did not know I needed to be contrite. It is an easy mistake to make and easy to fix (I already have), nor can I determine what your voice tone is in text to tell if you are angry or mockingly amused.

I do apologize for the error. It is already taken care of.

Hell, I would have had him done days ago, but when my GPU died it took the unsaved character file with it.

Ben, I don't like late characters and this character is way past late. That goes for Garvin as well. Lys as well since we're on that subject.

Sneaking things through on a late character is an old trick so the later you submit your character, the less benefit of the doubt I give your errors. So when the character thread is nearly two months old and your character is showing up in less than two hours before the game, I'm not generous especially when the "error" in question is a combination of twisting something into something else and min-maxing.

Please don't bring up my name in matters with which i have no involvement. At no point have i stated any intent to make a character, it would be nice to be given the courtesy of assuming that i also have no intent of submitting one at the last minute.

But you did do it in Vampire and with a custom bloodline to boot. So yes, you're relevant.

It is rather unkind of you to imply that i did not learn from it and need to be reminded. Such unkindness is upsetting and unbecoming.

You did not mean to imply, perhaps, but that is what is implied when your statement sounds like chastisement on a matter that is past.

DIARY OF A CYBERPUNK CAB DRIVER:

So I picked up another dickbag hacker who tried to defeat my firewall and convince my cab that he'd already paid tonight. Those little shits feel invincible in the back seat with six inches of blast-proof steel between us, but he wasn't laughing anymore when I hit the manual override on the door locks, hauled his skinny, tattooed ass out in the street, and knocked his teeth out with my tire iron. I'll get a thousand bucks for his rig from Durango, at least.

That creepy biker gang that all get themselves twanked to look like Michael Jackson is hassling me again. I had to use the flamethrower to get them to quit swarming my road space and pirating my wi-fi, which means I have to do the clean-up on THAT now. Dickheads.

A really drunk girl left an iPhone with the Uber app on it in the back seat. Spent my lunch break on a rooftop calling Uber and practicing my marksmanship.

The new ad playing over the smart surface of the passenger compartment has some serious vertigo shots. Are they TRYING to make people barf back there?

Fucking neurostim addicts. No, you cannot plug into my car to get high, you pissant.

Also when the team comes back downstairs I want to explicitly state right now that contrary to appearances the drone is not teabagging Tobin by resting its ammo drum on his mouth.

It's just a slight bug in the Medic autosoft, it's trying CPR.

Karma expenditure question. I'm interested in picking up one of the martial arts from Run & Gun. Do our illustrious GMs want some in game work to vet that or is it handled like increasing skills in downtime?

On behalf of myself and my illustrious co-GM stay the fuck away from the martial arts in Run & Gun. The rules are clunky, it's a point sink, and we don't want to deal with it. If you want to do a cool brawl maneuver, we'll work it out on the fly.

Okay, Whisker's been making fruitful use of his downtime, as follows:

Because his crib is now semi-compromised, he's secured a fallback location. Low lifestyle, but with garage, secure neighborhood thanks to a friendly gang. (Until they get whacked by a nastier gang, but c'est la vie or however we'd say that in the infinitely superior Sperethiel.)

He's brushed up his Pilot Ground Craft skill since that's going to come into play, cost was 14 to bump that from 2 to 4. In the vein of personal improvement he also added Hardware, so he can begin tinkering up guns and comms and shit, 2 points to bump that to level 1.

There's another 3k in 'personal expense', read: hookers. He uses different agencies and has no set profile, seemingly selecting the women at random and never sending for the same one twice.

He's banked 5k for taxes, because Lone Star's gotta get their filthy lucre. His official occupational listing is "Security consultant".

I do have a question: under the older rules there was a setup to VR bikes, using a gyro rig to maintain balance so that your floppy meat wouldn't interfere with balance. So if I picked myself up a nice Mirage, what would we rule the cost to be on the gyro rig so I can do that? Having the crib compromised has me working the angles on rapid evacuation from the household, including setting up an emergency bike run that leads over a faux-rock structure in the back that conveniently works as a ramp and, with the room I have to accelerate, would launch me over the fence and into the labyrinthine alleys with lots of nice options of which way to roll out.

Bike itself is 8500, easily doable, plus cost of control rig and all. Not going to gun the bike up just yet, gonna bank the cash I have left after making the initial mods.

Also, are we stashing our van at Whisker's place? He's got the room and a hankering to start making mods. I'll draw on the joint account to install the control rig.

Updated Prospero with two new complex forms and another rank of Focused Concentration, with GM approval. Don't know how much time skip there will be, but I can make rolls for learning time of spells as needed, I'll probably be using sprites to assist.

Here's what I'd like to do with Blender skill and purchase wise. All these things pending GM approval, of course.

Skills:
Logic limit means I can up two skills, skill training limit means a maximum of 3 skill points (per skill). Blender has determined that we need a demolitions specialist and that sabotage is something she ought to know. 12 karma on raising demolitions to 3. As you sometimes have to get behind locked doors to place your fancy explosives (and really, sometimes you just have to get behind locked doors) we'll drop 2 karma on a point of locksmith. I believe this leaves me with 2 remaining, which I will necessarily bank. Skills below rating 4 take 1 day per point, so that should be 4 days of practice/training/research/whatever it's called.

Monies: Blender's gonna pay up another month of medium rent for 5k nuyen. She also wants some new firepower, as recoil is a bitch and if you're just going to use one gun it might as well be an assault rifle. She's heard the Japanese Imperial Marines like the Yamaha Raiden and if that's good enough for them it's good enough for her. She wants some customization and aftermarket accessories though. The cost, rarity, and source breakdown is as follows:

Item | cost | rarity | sourcebook
Yamaha Raiden | 2600 | 14F | SR5 Core 428
Shock Pad | 50 | 2 | SR5 Core 432
Gas Vent 3 System | 600 | 9R | SR5 Core 431
Foregrip | 50 | 2 | Run & Gun 52
Sling | 15 | - | Run & Gun 52

Obviously one has to feed this monstrosity, there's ammunition as well:
9 Spare magazines (Clips!? Really, Shadowrun!?) | 5ea, 45 | 4 | SR5 Core 434
180 rounds AR APDS | 120 per 10, 2160 | 12F | SR5 Core 434
120 rounds AR Explosive | 80 per 10, 960 | 9F | SR5 Core 434
60 rounds AR Stick 'n Shock | 80 per 10, 480 | 6R | SR5 Core 434
180 rounds AR regular | 20 per 10, 360 | 2R | SR5 Core 434

Total cost of all that comes to 7350 for the gun and ammo(3315 for the gun, 4035 for ammo). Plus the 5k for rent brings total expenditures to 12350.

Edit: Added regular ammo.
