Yes, it was approved. I'm not stupid enough to try and pull something like this without getting permission first.

And no, it is not my usual military cliche. My previous military cliches have all been spec ops killer types. This guy spent the last four years in the Ultima Bureau, before that, ten years in the CIA. So, for the last 14 years, he hasnt been in any military unit, mainly intelligence gathering and then working with Ultima. How is that my usualy military cliche?

*Facepalm* Invisibility. Now I wish I'd thought of that.

"No, I was attending the briefing, you just couldn't see me. Then I accompanied you on the mission, all stealthy-like."

"You didn't acknowledge your presence at all!"

"I was really stealthy."

"The janitors said they heard snoring coming from your bunk."

"That was, ah, a diversion sir. Got to keep them on their toes."

Highly trained military super. That's the cliche. Nitpicking does not really remove the obvious cliche.

Whatever. Invisibility doesn't bother me.

We could probably fast forward through the debate if everyone is ready to get on with the meat of the storyline

(besides, I want to react to the existence of everyone's new favorite empath)

I'm good to wrap this up off-camera. Let's get on with the fun. I have Ultima people to get to meet properly.

So what did AgentFisher's character do to get his own office?

Trust me, government employees don't get their own office unless you're management. You'll be lucky to have a cubical in the cube farm.

Ah. Uh, I dont know. I guess I should put it as a cubical.

Edit: Oh yeah, I've been working for Ultima for 4 years. I guess that will do.

yeah, it better be a fucking cubical... I dont have an office

Granted, I have a semi-secret subterranean/aquatic only entrance lair in an abandoned sewer-subway complex, but I dont have an OFFICE per se

you still wouldn't rate an office...

you have to be supervisor level for that. cubicle yes, office, really doubtful.

Edit:

And Sergeant Major?! That's E-9, the pinacle of the enlisted army ranks unless you take a command position as Sergeant Major of the Army or Command Sergeant Major. In 8 years? Bullshit. *waves flag, drops flag, pulls card, drops card, etc* No fucking way. Even spec ops doesn't promote that fast.

Why is it Fisher, that anytime anyone gives you an inch you take a mile? I let you have a military background, you're suddenly the rank equivilent of a 20+ year enlistee who's had a damned good career in half of that. You're not a freaking spec ops supersoldier again. And this is why I was so hesitant to approve your character at all. I knew that somehow you would do this...

The Sergeant Major is from 22 years. Even though he was working for the CIA and Ultima, he was still offically owned by the Army.

If that doesnt fly, ok, I'll knock him down to an E-4 or E-5.

You would be promoted slower while working outside of the army. You should be an E-6 or maybe an E-7, sure as hell not a Sgt Major, there are not many slots open for Sgt Major and they're not going to hand to someone who hasn't been working in the Army.

Especially when you've been working for the fucking Spooks.

Ok, didnt know that. Sorry.

Edit:

Ok, I'm knocking it down. I really didnt mean to fuck up like that. I did research it and from where I got my info, after 22 years it seemed logical for him to a Sergeant Major.

With all the Military guys on this board, you should have known better, Fisher

And a minor bitch: Cubes dont have file cabinets. You get a chair, a desk with computer and printer, a phone, and desk drawers for everything else. If you're lucky, you might have an overhead cabinet to store snacks in. If you're *really* lucky, you have speakers to go with your computer, and it's running the latest software.

but considering my own office only updated to WinXP professional *last year*....

Go rent "Office Space" to get an idea of CubeFarm life... or go re-read Dilbert comics.
