"I see. Thank you," he said with a polite nod. He then stepped back and motioned to his companions. "If you have anything else you want to ask, it should be asked quickly. We probably have very little time."

Astinius needed to get a message to Gaheris. To find out where he was before he teleported anywhere. He headed toward the temple of Mystra, they should have a scroll of Sending, or know of someone in the city who would.

The Church of Mystra had no such scroll for sale. Astinius was instead directed to gnome named Kordiplens. After several wrong turns, Astinius found himself at the right place, which was a door set into the knoll beneath a large tree with an elf house in the tallest branches.

Torma gave Gar a glare. "Perhaps we should ask the most important question?" she suggested icily before turning to the monk. "What are the appropiate magics to remove them from a body. We'll likely need that information."

"Compulsions magics to make it leave would certainly be the easiest," said Cass. "I suppose one could design a kind of teleportation magic to work. Polymorphing the host into something too small for inhabitation should work as well."

"I ask because it must be asked." Malkamar spoke up. "Has there been any information coming into your hands or Candlekeep's on their reaction to Shadow Weave Magic?"

"And dragons are exotic, period," Torma muttered, shaking her head. "Thank you, sir, for you time and answers."

"We should hurry to find Astinius," Gaheris said in a low voice to Malkamar. "We shouldn't have let him go alone." He turned back to Cass. "You have the thanks of the church of Tyr, as well as my own." he said with a nod of acknowledgment. "I would love to take in more of Candlekeep, but our time is short. Farewell."

Astinius knocked to announce his peaceful entry and stepped inside.

"Greetings" he said, picking out the gnome from amidst his surroundings.

The low ceilinged entrance way opened up into a large circular room lined with shelves. At the far end of the room was desk at which sat a white bearded gnome wearing a green tunic and breeches. The shelves were full of scrolls, potions, spell components, and other oddities. Brass models of planar sphere interactions, dragon claws, rat skeletons, and an illithid brain resting in brine were just some of the curiousities on the shelves.

The gnome looked up at Astinius. "Do you? Well, I might be able to help you out." He consulted a ledger. "F3," he said allowed. One of the rat skeletons scampered along a shelf, removed a scroll, and bounded over to Kordiplens. "That will be eight hundred gold," said the gnome.

The elf counted out 80 platinum pieces and in return received the scroll.

"Thank you." he said "Is there a place nearby where an Elf can get some privacy?"

Cynical Cat wrote:"This is a magic shop, not a brothel," the gnome replied.
"You know what I mean." the mage said with a bit of a scowl and walked out, scroll in hand. It didnt matter at that point. He unrolled the scroll, and read from it, pulling out a piece of fine copper wire as its component. He sent the spell to Gaheris

"In silverymoon, no useful information. Was attacked, summoned creature breached ward. Spellguard assisted me. Capable of hybridizing extra planar entities. Please respond, Where are you?"

Back in Candlekeep, Gaheris looked up, having just finished bidding farewell to Cass.

"We're at Candlekeep. Have ascertained identity of Mak Thuum Ngatha. You are in mortal danger; after spellfire. Will meet as soon as possible; exercise caution."

He looked around at his companions. "That was Astinius. He's alive and well, but has already been attacked. We should go to him, now."

Astinius cursed in celestial. No small feat considering the nature of the language. and headed back toward the safest place he could think of that he had access to, without arousing suspicion or concern. The Temple of Mystra.

"Then I suggest we get out of Candlekeep and set up the gateway." Malkamar nodded simply. "...It's terribly poor manners to set up portals inside buildings." He added at potential funny looks.

For the first time since they set out, Torma was all business. "Outside, then, fast as we can."

Gaheris nodded. "Let's go," he said simply, already walking towards the door.

Again, not a cross word from Torma, just following Gaheris out the door to backtrack their way out of Candlekeep and back to the main gates of the town.

Ok, perhaps her four legs were moving a little faster than Gaheris' two, and she'd had to pause a couple times for them to catch up. It was clear she felt the same way as Malk and Gar: they needed to rejoin Astinius as fast as possible.

Malkamar caught up with the dragon, linking the segments of gate together. "Silverymoon's got a mythallar, I think, so it'll prevent us from appearing inside. We find Astinius as fast as possible. If you see something monstrous... Well, focus on getting to the elf, then hurting badguys."

The portal was set up and activated.

The ring gates displayed the road just outside Silverymoon.

"Soon as we get inside the Mythal, I can search by air," Torma answered Malk in the same serious tone, then she leapt thru the portal and waited for them to follow.

The road to Silverymoon wasn't busy at dusk. A loose ring of farmsteads surrounded the mighty city and dozens of varicoloured glows were visible inside its wall. Four stout gate guards in half plate and carrying long lances stood at attention. Above them on the top of the gatehouse were other men with longbows, a ballista, and a woman in green robes.

The guards were startled to see a dragon, but not panicked. "Welcome to Silverymoon," said the half elf commanding them.
