The soul cages were, unfortunately, extremely durable. They would not break under Malkamar's battering.

Akina, eager to bring some end to this so she could get her battered body out of her armor, stalked up to the soul cages and bumped Malkamar out of the way. "I vill have a swing at it."

Lifting her axe high, the Umbrean warrior brought it down again on one of the ends of a soul cage.

The axe smashed through the soul cage, releasing a gush of green light and then staying dark.

"Final-freaking-ly..." Teghe sighed, once again leaning against the wall, this time in relief it was over. He hoped the church had a nice, soft bed, and maybe a bath-house where he could clean his wounds. Privately. He did not like sharing his bath with anyone.

Akina hefted her axe back on her shoulder and slipped her helmet off her head with her other hand. The woman turned to Malkamar and grinned. "Hyu know how to show girl a goot time."

"Right then. Let's give this place a twice over. Be on the lookout for anything that might be orders or plans, see if this is just a single attack or a part of a larger group," He gave the still body of the mechanikal monstrosity one last kick as he started looking around. "While we're at it, let's assess our wounds and mend them as best we kin, in case he's got friends nearby. When that's done, let's get these blights into a pile and make ready to dispose of 'em, an' we kin take stock of what this bastard had in stock."

Leaning down, Rogan looked at the fallen lich to see if there were any hidden compartments built in to the body.

Rogan found compartments with both keys, three small accumulators, and spell components in them.

"Sure, Rogan... we all know you just want to tinker with his toys," Teghe retorted, wincing as he limped over to search through various things dumped in the floor when the tables overturned. With a murmur and a stroke of his gun Teghe called on the last of his magic to create a ball of dancing light. "Corey? You ok?" the gunmage asked, too casually to be the mere afterthought he meant it to seem. "Got the juice to give us some light so we can see in here?"

Akina stepped back to where she had entered the place, picking up her pistols again. She looked them over quickly before slipping them back in their holsters and began to look over another portion of the lab, she wouldn't be able to tell what it had been building in all likelyhood, but important things usually stood out.

"I am bleeding and exhausted... but I have that within me still..."

He muttered a few words on his staff, which he was using for support, and its end began to glow with light

"Metal and magic, I'd say," Teghe answered absently, searching the floor for what might have survived the overturning of the tables and the chaos of the fight. "Potions and salves, if we're lucky. Damn thing nearly killed us."

"Might have spell components too... Salves are unlikely, it is not exactly alive, not of any use" Corey hobbled around the room, searching for any storage spaces not blown to tiny bits by the spell-battle. There may be useful things in there...

Akina snorted as she sat down on one of the unflipped tables and relaxed for a few moments. "Nearly kelled us? Ha, dat vasn't so bad at all. Ve are all alive and nobody is bleedink so badly dat ve need to attend to dem. Dis vas pretty much cakewalk huh?" The Umbrean woman was beaming as she spoke, despite how tired she obviously was.

"You are a crazy woman Akina...But we knew that already, afterall, you go for men Like Malkamar... I prefer my lovers a bit smaller..." he spared a glance over at Teghe when he said it.

"It's form will hold only horrors and curses. I will take part in no such looting." Despite Akina's upbeat nature, he felt like he had been pushed to the brink. "I'm going to rest and heal myself. Be happy, my new friends. We defeated an evil that would have festered like an open sore."

Ever get the feeling someone's watching you bend over? Teghe was. The gunmage glanced over at Corey, just in time to hear the mage's comment. His mouth opened for a smart retort... but not a word came to mind, so Teghe looked down and continued trying to find something amongst the rubbish.

Akina was not blind, she caught Corey's glance and glanced over at Teghe herself. She raised an eyebrow in some confusion and then shook her head, perhaps Teghe was really a woman pretending to be a man. If so, it certainly wasn't Akina's place to bring it up in public like this.

Akina also had little interest in looting from the body of the lich, mostly because she doubted any of the pieces she would find would be usable by her. "I agree vit Malkamar, taking someting from so damned a creature voud only lead to trouble."

Corey was indeed watching Teghe as he bent over, and also saw the speechlessness. Any man who was not receptive to his advances would have audibly protested by now. But he didnt say anything just went back to looking for stuff

The searching swiftly uncovered a massive iron chest.

"Well well... hello baby," Teghe grinned widely, looking down at the chest. "Anyone see a key to this, so we can see what's inside?"

Rogan laid out the finds from inside the Lich's hidden compartments, all save the keys, which he kept in his hands. "We kin divvy up th' finds later. I'll see if either of these keys works on that chest. Keep lookin' around. Scrolls, books, whatever might look useful." Kneeling in front of the chest, he gingerly took out his tools and carefully checked the outside of the box and in the lock for any sort of traps. Assuming none were found, he would try each key, then his tools if the keys did not work.

The chest opened with a click. The interior of the chest was filled with large velvet bags. One held rings and broaches. Another necklaces. Another held golden Cygnarian swans [2 gp piece]. Another held platinum Khadorian fangs and so on and so forth. In short, the chest was full of the most valuable pirate swag imaginable.

Teghe whistled, looking over Rogan's shoulder at the shinies in the chest. "Twins... I'll be able to pay you off and have money to spare, Rogan...."

"Wow... it is times like this I am happy to be a mercenary... OOH! I almost forgot" for all his injuries, Corey scuttled over to the Iron Lich's staff with all the fervor of a small child, and the look of a power-mad crazy person

"mine!" he exclaimed. He had planted his flag and the staff belonged to him.

He was now using both staffs almost like crutches

"Ok. lets get the swank, back to the church, we can divy it up over a hot bath and after collecting our earnings from the church... and get our wounds patched up"
