"Captain!" The logistic officer yelled over the typically busy activity of the Odan-Urr's bridge.
"Yes lieutenant, what's wrong?" The captain asked, shaken slightly by the unexpected yell which interrupted his angsty inner monologue moment.
"We've detected a strange ship entering the system," The officer replied, "It seems to have come out of a spatial disturbance which looks vaguely like a wormhole."
"Oh," The captain said, lamenting the interruption of his generic angst, "Well, let's go and meet them shall we?"

USS Proteus
Somewhere in the Typhon Sector
Captain's Log, Stardate 60758.7.
The Proteus has been called to investigate the disappearance of a scout ship in this sector seven hours ago. We are en route to the Sigma Numena System at maximum warp. For this ship, that won't be long. More updates will come as time allows.
Captain Erika Holifield paced across her ship's bridge, expecting trouble. Considering that the Breen raids over the last year she had a feeling they had made short work of the Federation scout.
"Any sensor contacts?" she asked.
"None, Captain," answered Lieutenant Vrann, the Bolian tactical officer. "Scopes are clean."
"Very well, inform me the moment that changes."
"Aye, Captain."
"For now, we just wait and see what happens."

RSS Odan-Urr... Peragas System
"Sensors, are we in visual range of the ship yet?"
"No, and you'd be able to see it if we were." The sensor's officer replied with a note of irritation lacing her voice.
"Well, how long until we are in visual range?" The captain asked with a note of random determination and grimness in his voice, as if this task were infinitely more important than it actually was.
"Oh, just about the same time you tell us to move the ship..." The sensor's officer said, "You've merely asked a question: 'Well, let's go and meet them shall we?', and not actually ordered us to move anywhere."
"Just shut up and move the damn ship," The captain snapped, "What does it take to have a dramatic and suspense-filled plot here?!"
"A less angsty captain." The helmsman remarked before keying in a heading, causing the old and rusted ship which wasn't entirely spaceworthy to lurch forwards as if its gag-reflex had been induced, "We'll be in visual range in about a split second."
"Awesome, then I'll finally be able to angst upon some more unsuspecting travellers who will probably find it rude, and misjudge our entire culture over that one simple diplomatic cockup."
