Blast raised his hand and fired. The energy fell upon the remains of the elemental and seemingly devoured it, burning brightly against the darkness. Earth was gone, completely. Blast took a deep breath and checked himself, yes he still had plenty of energy for now.

"So... What now?" he asked.

Legacies glanced in the direction of the two new-comers. The silver tendrils slowly wandered nearer to the two.

"We could ask who exactly these two are and what they are doing here."

Legacies glanced at the one who looked very human.

"Or at least ask that one, since the other has explained."

Argent once again emerged from Tachyon's shadow, this time fully human. "They're not demons, Legacies," she said as she laid a hand on Tachyon's arm. "They're ... holy... in a way I don't want to be near. But they're not the only problem."

Argent faced Blackheart soberly. "The emotions in this place are overwhelming my shields, Blackheart. I can't make them stronger, or I'll block out the team. Tachyon's able to extend his shield to me, but not very far. "

She didn't want to finish the sentence, didn't want to think of what could happen if her empathy was overwhelmed, but had to get the seriousness of the situation across. "Blackheart... I'd rather fall into the Demonheart than what's in these walls."

"Then block out the team," said Blackheart. Images flashed in front of his eyes, images of him tearing meat and strings of light out of various beings. He blinked and they were gone.

There were twenty different ways to describe how bad an idea that was. Argent didn't bother going into all of them, assuming that Blackheart already knew they had no other means of communication between the team. "Are you sure, Blackheart?"

She was more worried about Blackheart himself. Something was distracting him, worrying at his mind, but emotions alone couldn't tell her what it was. She worried that the same aura she was trying to fight off was strengthening the Demonheart.

Argent made her decision. She would shut off the rest of the team, but the links to Blackheart and Tachyon would remain.

"I hate to interrupt what I assume is a heart-wrenching moment of personal growth and insight, but I'm sure you can understand the suprise I'm feeling at stumbling onto a pack of peculiar-looking individuals who just curb-stomped a demonic security team." The robed man tugged at one of the straps on his backpack, tightening it a bit more. The small pack shifted a bit and was almost entirely hidden behind his broad frame.

"I suppose Saint Mike already knows what's going on, seeing as he's got the inside scoop from the Big Man Upstairs, but I'm in the dark here. I am Brother Hector Corvalis. May I ask who you all are?"

Hector clearly wasn't a very good poker player. His calm expression was undone by the way he absently ran his thumb across the surface of the large medallion he wore, suggesting that he was not nearly as relaxed as he was trying to appear.

Michael shook his head, groaning. "Take the mortal, they said. He'll be a big help, they said." He looked at Hector. "Did you think it was going to be us two against the demons? We are here to help them, Hector. And stop with the Saint business." The angel said.

"A veneer of Judeo-Christian mythology buys you exactly nothing," said Blackheart. "You might want to explain what you're doing in this place at this moment of time to satisfy my ever present suspicions."

"Gravitas. I'm a guest of the one you and Michael serve in this world. So don't try the attitude." The Nova said darkly. "And I'd so what he said." Gesturing to Blackheart. "He's scary."

Michael looked at Blackheart. "Well, dark one," he said. "I and my compatriot here, are here to assist you in evening the balance, so to speak. As I said to my brother, Mother doesn't like him cheating. So, thats why I'm here. What about your team?" He asked.

"I think the move that ultimately set us to come here was a demon-human fusion that tried to cause alot of trouble." Gravitas said dryly. "Oh. Then some of them tried to kill us. That really got on our bad sides."

Legacies seemed to grin ferally as he looked at the two. "Who we are is of no concern, just know that you're presense highly irritates those two." Legacies pointed with tentacles at Blackheart and Argent. "So it would be wise not to upset them further. That being said, we are in somewhat of a rush now either prove your heavenly descent, move aside, or die."

((Computer dead. Tev Post))

Argent looked from Blackheart to Gravitas to Legacies, and sighed. a shadow tendril rose, pointing to each team member in turn as she named them off.

"Blackheart, Legacies, Gravitas, Blast, Hotfoot, Tachyon, Tholos ... and I am called Argent."

She gives Legacies a hard look. "To answer the next question ..." Her shadow tendril extended itself, reaching out to touch Michael's arm.
It was annihilated in a flash of white fire, and Argent hissed, shaking her hand as if stung. "I should have expected feedback...."

"Well, Blackheart-Legacies-Gravitas-Blast-Hotfoot-Tachyon-Tholos-and-Argent, I am not of 'heavenly descent,' but merely an ordinary man who happens to be member of an organization that does things like this. Though not on this scale. I've just been granted a few gifts by the Lord to help me do what has to be done. Nothing fancy. Michael showed up out of nowhere during a fight that went bad, pulled our bacon out of the fire in more than a figurative sense, then asked me to come along for this one. And lo and behold, here I am." He made a sweeping bow that sent the hood of his robe flopping down over his head. He left it there as he stood back up.

"In a more tactical sense, I'm the one who throws the bad guys through walls, throws the walls through the bad guys, and heals whoever caught the bad guy's bullets. I saw some of what you folks can do, though I'm not sure I actually understand all of it. I think I saw silver tentacles, black wispy tentacles, and lots of burning."

"Your here to help us and want to know what my team is doing here? You don't already know?" asked Blackheart. "Your not being very convincing. So, start again. Explain your presence here and know. Because right now parsimony says you're a very good trick and I should tear your limbs off."

Michael turned to Hector. "Please, be silent." He says to him. The angel turns back to Blackheart, staring at him. "Don't pay too much attention to Hector. I have found he shares an annoying habit with most mortals. They like to talk. As for why I am here, Father is angry with my brother for breaking the rules. I am here to shut down his rule breaking." He said.

Tholos stepped forward. "You need not fear these two Blackheart. They are indeed what they say they are... holy. I can feel the aura coming off them from here. Besides, they helped us, made no hostile moves against us, and we outnumber them. Having said that, we should probably get moving, this entire place has been alerted to our presence by now."

"That they feel 'holy' means jack shit," said Blackheart. "All sorts of things can be faked. They're here, in this place, coincedentally waiting is my primary concern and it still hasn't be answered."

Gravitas tilted his head. "I'm not sure my compatriots are... reassured by the sudden scrutiny from above. They are but men. Well. Exceptional humans, obviously, and in one case a sort of mishmash of human and alien." He commented dryly. "Now, I personally would have been reassured with the good old fashioned 'Be Ye Not Afraid' introduction which tends to indicate I'm not getting my ass kicked by holy swords. But." A glance to Blackheart.

"They have inadvertantly identified our opposition, and if my analysis is to be trusted," He didn't say things like this. Between the aberrations pressing at his skull, and the fact his senses had fooled him, he was off his game. "..We can use their aid. Well. The angel's. The other guy strikes me as a good ballistic weapon."

Michael drew his sword. He turned to so the pommel was facing Blackheart. "I doubt anything I say will convince you." He said. "So, if you don't trust me, take the sword and strike me down." Michael looks back at Hector. "As for him, he is mortal, so if you don't want him, the Nova can send him elsewhere." He says. The angel glances at Gravitas. "And as for the old line, Gabe and the others always used it, and usually the mortals were even more freaked out." He responds with a laugh.

Argent's gaze slid from one to another as the men spoke and tried to get answers from the angel. She could understand Blackheart's reluctance and lack of trust. The angel's presence made her back teeth ache like overly sweet lemonade.

Yet standing here arguing was a very bad idea. "Gravitas is right, we need to move."

Hector's smiling look of perpetual patience was a little more strained then it had been a moment ago. "Wow. I didn't believe in reincarnation until now, but I think I just met the reborn Thomas. You have members of your own team members telling you they can feel the Holy rolling off Michael and you still want more evidence?" He shook his head and chuckled. "As long as you're this hardheaded when the bad guys start offering you cool stuff, you just might be the ideal crusader."

He shrugged off his backpack and started rummaging through it. "Hang on. This should help." From the neatly organized and compartmentalized contents, he removed a stack of laminated sheets, all securely bound together, and held the whole thing out to Blackheart. "It sounds like you folks know demons pretty well. Every knight of the Ordo Draconis gets these. They're instructions for drawing protection circles, and there's an Idiot's Guide to Exorcisms in the back. I never got the hang of the circles, but if you folks know your stuff, you should recognize them."

He stood back up. "Now, would a demon carry these, much less the two pints of holy water I have in here, the aspergillum, the rosary, or any of the other stuff?"

"Monk." Gravitas said darkly. "No one's doubting that you exude subnoetic energy aligned with the concept of holy and purity." The Nova said simply, utilizing the tone of a professor speaking to a Freshman. "We doubt intentions and whether you will be of much aid, coming here and yet not knowing what we're doing."

Argent dropped Tachy's arm and vanished into the shadow. If the monk had said he'd had a nuke in the backpack, Argent would have reacted the same way, a touch of wary fear that could not be hidden from Tachy and Blackheart. She had been splashed with holy water once as a joke; the wound had taken days to heal. She did not want to suffer like that again.

"This is getting us nowhere. Either we move on now, or we want for the next batch to come to us," Argent said from the shadows. "So accept their help, or call it off, Blackheart. Enough Penis-waving all ready."

Blast was edgy and an argument where they all stood still in a demon haunted mountain after loudly announcing themselves made him only worse.

"Look either way, can we get moving? Standing still is not a good idea I think." He chimed in shifting his weight from foot to foot.
