Breathes-the-Winds let the others explain silverware to Sees-Faces. The Metis was more interested in Galileo and the newcomer. "So where are you from Joe?"

"I hail from near the Vermont/Canada Border. I am an Algonquin Moonspeaker." Joe responded easily.

"Really?" said Alexander. "I've met a few people from that area. Do you know Simon-Howling-Moon or Stares-at-Water?"

"I kept mostly to my reservation. I am not familiar with the names, I grew up with my grandfather on the native reservation and he taught me the ways of things. To be what I am today. To speak the words of the moon." Joe swiftly responded

"I hail from the Algonquin people. We moved back to our old lands back in the early eighties and have been there since." Joe said.

Galileo sipped his coffee and grinned. "Wendigo, if that's what you meant, Alex." He'd been watching Sophie and Arianne explain silverwear to Sees-Faces with high amusement.

"Joe-Smith, why don't you try a sip of your milkshake?"

The vanilla shake was creamy-white, and thick as only pure scoops of ice cream can make it. The strawberry shake was a lucious pink, with tidbits of shredded berries caught in the creamy shake. It might have even been made with strawberry ice cream as well as berries.

Nodding to Galileo, "Joe-Smith" took a casual sip of his milkshake through the straw, but almost immediately narrowed his eyebrows, and made a much more concerted effort. Soon, he was truly trying, the look on his face one of intent concentration.

All too soon, his eyes suddenly flew wide open, and he began to cough down into his lap a little of the milkshake. He finished coughing soon enough, and eyed the milkshake as if eyeing a foe that had proven itself to be worthy. Carefully putting both hands on it, both hands flew off of it much more rapidly, as his eyes narrowed, studying the milkshake intently.

Looking at the table again with eyebrows narrowed, they rose upward as he spotted the third metal shiny thing. Poke wouldn't work, Cut wouldn't either. His left hand slowly reached out to the third implement, wrapping his fingers around it carefully and holding it in front of him, and then turning his attention to his milkshake once again. He whispered a single word. "Bonk."

"Joe-Smith" made a single, exploratory tap of Bonk against the milkshake.

(EDIT: Galileo, not Alex)

This was not going quite as planned...

Sophie forced, forced herself to refrain from laughing and thereby drawing attention to them all. She was grateful that Sees-Faces seemed to have enough patience to avoid simply hurling the thing to the floor and lapping it up, and his selection of tool was encouraging, even if he clearly had no idea what to do with it.

"Watch," she said, picking up her own spoon and carefully scooping up some of the milkshake with it. She put the spoon in her mouth ostentatiously, hoping he'd get the idea.
Gaze upon my works, ye mighty, and despair...

Havoc: "So basically if you side against him, he summons Cthulu."
Hotfoot: "Yes, which is reasonable."

Watching Sophie intently, "Joe-Smith" quickly got the idea. "Bonk" was actually "Scoop," but, he thought with a small smile, "Bonk" would still work.

Following her example, he used Scoop to eat a little of the milkshake. His eyebrows raised as he did - this was cold, but...good!

He took a larger spoonful and ate it slowly, obviously relishing the taste, and finishing it all too soon. Scoop dipped into the rapidly-shrinking level of milkshake still in the cup, and got an even larger amount of it.

he began eating it, with the same serene expression on his face, and a few quiet happy noises escaping him here and there. However, it was a few moments later that he dropped the spoon into the milkshake cup, his right eye closed tightly, and he put both of his hands over his right eye, an involuntary gasp of pain escaping him as he did.

"You probably should slow down..." said Sophie, but too late. Sees-Faces had clearly just just experienced his first brain freeze.

"You have to eat it slower," she said, knowing this wouldn't help much. "It'll pass in a little bit."

"Press your tongue against the roof of your mouth," Arianne urged quietly. "It's ok, Joe. It's normal - it's like when you drink cold water from the stream in January. Take a deep breath."

She glared at Galileo for a minute. He should have known better than to send an unprepared Garou out into the world.

"Tell us about Crier, Galileo." she said insistantly.

Galileo smirked into his coffee cup as SeesFaces learned the lesson of BrainFreeze. Lupus were like children in a way, and it was always entertaining to see them trying human things. Poke, Cut, Bonk was something the Ragabash was going to have to remember; it was too funny to leave alone.

Still the cubs had business to handle. "So, since we're here, I'm guessing you lost the scent?"

It seemed that Joe the Tribeless wasn't going to answer his question. Well enough. Galileo was prodding away at Sees-Faces and Arianne. "We have leads to follow up on," said Alexander. "Joe was hungry, that's all."

"... and plus, we'd like to know more about this 'Crier' guy," added Sophie. Of course for all she knew, she was the only one who thought this was important, but that didn't bother her too much.

"If Crier stole the fetish, and we're chasing him down, then weather we find him or not, it'll help to know who he is. Arianne said he was thrown out of the Cairn for some reason, but if he's some kind of Black Spiral Dancer or Wyrm-worshipper... well I mean we're probably tracking him, right? We need to know what he did, and who he is."

She took a long drink of her milkshake and faced Galileo, trying to look pragmatic.

"Look... I know we're all cubs, or most of us... but you don't send six Garou on a milk run to pick up some artifact from a college unless you're expecting trouble. So what's going on here?"

Galileo was saved from answering by the arrival of the food, Patty needing help to get it all down. However, she remembered exacty who ordered what, without asking to make sure.

The food both looked and smelt delicious, in the way only home-style cooked meals could. Even the hamburger was a full meal, taking up half the plate. Then she refilled everyone's drinks, but for the milkshakes. Obviously they didn't get refills, but the glass was large enough that they shouldn't want any more.

Only once Patty and her helper had gone away did Galileo speak. "Crier was before my time. I don't know what he did, but it broke a Litany or two," he said as he unwrapped his fork. With relish, he used it to slice the end off his pie, eating it with such satisfaction one might think he was exaggerating.

Though he was about to try answering, "Joe-Smith" was greatly relieved that Alex did so before he could. The horrible, frozen, pain-stabbing-ow feeling above his right eye was slowly getting better, which he was thankful for. However, as he was looking better, he eyed his milkshake with increasing suspicion.

However, when the food came, his attention was utterly captivated by the meat on his plate. He smelled it delicately, smiling happily as he did. However, he didn't eat it yet. Instead, he casually watched the others to see how they used Poke, Cut, and Bonkscoop.

After a few moments, he used Poke and Cut on his meat, still hot and steaming, and used them together to make a much smaller piece, which he promptly ate, making quiet happy noises sometimes at the taste. This was delicious! He'd have to meet Cut, Poke, and Bonkscoop in the Otherside soon, and thank them.

"I serve great Wendigo, Alex. Thats all you will need to know for now." Digging into his lasanga with gusto the large Native American man was happy. The milkshake was awsome and the lasanga was dripping with good meat sauce. "One thing that those Italians definately do right is food."

"So, Crier is older... and from what I hear Wyrm tainted. This will definately not be easy..."

Breathes-the-Winds took a long drink of water and looked back at Galileo. "You must have had more of a reason to come here than just dropping off Joe, Galileo. He could have found this place easily enough with directions. So why are you here? Waiting for us to ask the right question?"

"You know I always am waiting for the right question, Adahy," Galileo answered with a wicked grin. "And for the answers as well. But the truth is I came for the pie." And he took another small bite of the lemon meringe pie, savoring it slowly.

After he swallowed, he looked around the table at all of them before focusing on Sophie. "As to why all of you went... well, I was hoping for a new pack to form," he admitted. " 'Course, I can send ya'll home and get another pack to take it from here."

Jesus, that wasn't subtle, Alex thought. Time to change the tune."So you fucked up getting the fetish in time, you fucked up trying to form this pack and now you want to fuck up the pursuit of Crier by taking the people who have actually developed leads off the case. That will make it three for three." Alex shrugged. "Suit yourself."

Adahy sighed. "Quit being an idiot Alex. It doesn't suit you. Packs don't get formed from moonshine, rainbows, and unicorn farts. They're formed from adversity. As things go as a pack we aren't doing so bad, and Galileo isn't doing anything we wouldn't do ourselves. Quit acting like a pup weaned too early off the mother's teat."

Adahy took a large bite from his hamburger then grabbed more fries. "He's testing us, like always, seeing what we can do." Adahy looked at Galileo and smirked. "Only question I've got is how long he expected me to believe everyone here was gonna be part of the pack."
