Telepathic contact SHOULD NOT HAPPEN! The satellites were freed(And the Little Brother programs in then set their correctional thrusters to get them where everyone expected them to go) mostly out of shock. Once the waves of initial panic washed over him and away, he quickly made the requisitions to HQ, and prepared for the removal from the facility. Still.. Could Legion really have a clue? His mind was supposed to be far too spread out..
Half-Damned, All Hero.

Inferno didn't lower his hands for several seconds, before he slowly lowered them and looked to Gordon as a sign he should as well.
"You were under a mental assault and tried to attack me. If we're done here we should head back up and see what the hell caused that."

Heidi blinked several times, as if stunned. "I attacked you? Shit...."
Will you stop faking this?
"Jerri, you don't have to yell at me. Whatever you did.. thanks for trying to stop me." Heidi said as she kept her arms up submissively. "Are you sure you want to trust me right now, Inferno?"
... what game are you playing now?

Heidi hesitated, then gave a small grin. "I'm saying you might want to be careful, in case that happens again."

Inferno shook his head. "Right. Let's just get upstairs so we can figure out what exactly is going on."

"Right." Heidi walked forward making no moves that the guys might take as hostile. She wasn't even swinging her hips this time.
What are you doing now
"I'm getting in front of them Jerri, so they can make sure I'm behaving," Heidi answered with a sigh.

The group made it back up to the ground floor without any more incidents. The walk was made considerably easier by Heidi's lack of swinging hips.
He looked over at Gemini and Mike. "Stay here, I'll be back."
With that, Inferno stepped into the elevator and headed up to the floor Legion and Alpha were on.

Heidi looked around and found a chair to sit in and wait. "So ... just what the fuck did I do, Mike?"
Yeah, I'd like to hear his thoughts on it. ... If he can stop looking at our boobs.

Mike kept his distance from Heidi, still ready to blast her with a stun blast.
"I, uh, don't really know. I just heard you were going crazy and Inferno needed help, so here I am." He said.

Inferno passed the pair of agents hauling the unconcious homeless man as he found his way to Legion and Alpha.
Other units were moving into the building to secure evidence for the investigation. As Inferno made his way to the other members of his team his comm activated and a voice came over it; one of the agents outside with their equipment and vehicles.
"Uhh, Agent Inferno, sir... We've got some suit here yelling at us about an injunction. He's pretty steamed, sir and he's got some papers full of legalese that I can't figure out. What should we tell him, because he's saying that if we're not off site PDQ we're going to be in breach of this thing and that we're all gonna be in a lot of trouble."

Inferno paused and looked back at the door outside and sighed just a little.
He flipped on his comm. "Alright, I'm on my way." Inferno turned the comm back off. "Alright, game face." He walked back out the door, looking like he owned this fucking building and if you thought otherwise you were in for a bad shock.

Legion looked at Inferno as he approached, and before he could say something, Inferno was being called over the comms.
"I'll follow, we're done up here...have a forensics team go over every floor...they're biologically clean.." Legion spoke, with a certainty he shouldn't have had.
"Alpha, begin Forensics scans with any onboard equipment you have."
When Inferno exited the Building, Legion was next to him, speaking low enough only for Inferno to hear, "Let me handle this...."
Already, Legion was reaching out tenitivly to the Lawyer's minds, to gt a light grasp, before seeing what he could do...

Legion stepped infront of Inferno, looking all the serious in his three piece suit and gloves. His mind was brushing up against the Lawyers, in their minds.
He was still getting a full grip on these new powers, as vast as they were, but he was adept at using them, as limited as he could without going insane.
He stepped to them, the entire time a wash of power rolled over their minds, making him appear to be far more formidable than he should be, instilling within them a sense of respect they would not have had before.
"Gentlemen.." he said, "I am Special Agent Legion, Bureau of Metahuman Affairs. How may I assist you?"

The lawyer's respect for Legion was cranked up to 11. But respect was nothing new for a lawyer. Half their job was being so utterly respectful to judges and those that they had to manipulate to falling on their side that it was to the point of sickening. This lawyer faced down Legion like he would face down a superior court judge or a magistrate; he would smile, and he would manipulate and manuver and he would do it with so much damned respect that the entire time you knew it was coming you would still have little choice but to nod and thank him for it. His pretigious law firm was founded on such methods; Dewie, Cheatham, and Howe were ruthless. When he spoke, it was with a slight upper crust british accent.
"Ah! Special Agent Legion, splendid, splendid. So glad to have you hear so we can clear up this little minor problem of legalities and all get on with our busy days. I'm sure you can understand and appreciate our need for expediancy in this matter. Of course you do, agent, of course you do. Never a doubt in my mind, about that. Now onto the matter at hand; your warrant has been made rather null and for the time being very void. You see, we've just obtained an injuncture into this most unwarranted search and seizure of my client's property and as such we much ask you and your fellow agents of peace, justice and all that to vacate the premesies posthaste as well as unlocking their very locked and inaccessable electronic systems which you saw fit to tie up during your little trip through our labs. Now, sir, I'm sure you, being an intelligent and very capable agent for the good of us all, can understand the neccessity of all of this and will act accordingly by removing you and yours. Of course you will, never a doubt. Now, as you can see here, this injuncture is effective immediately, clearly meaning that you are currently in breach of this and while we are very much in the spirit of allowing you to remove yourselves under your own power and authority, we must insist that you do so right now. Otherwise, any further delays, my good agent, will be seen as a clear violation of this court-issued paperwork right here and we will have no choice but to take the most regretable action of notifying the proper authorities as well as taking this up your chain of command, in addition to seeking legal damages and pressing all sorts of nasty and completely unneccessary and unwanted charges. I'm sure you see my perdiciment, sir, and will undoubtedly agree that leaving it really the best course of action for everyone involved. Of course you will, of course you will, never a doubt you see. Now, then! Off you all go! Back to your vehicles! There's a good agent. I'm sure there will be a good strong hot tea and maybe some Jaffa cakes when you get back to wherever it is you go. You don't, of course, have ot go home, but you can't stay here, as the saying goes. I'm sure you understand. All set. And I bid you gents good day."
The lawyer left Legion holding a copy of the paperwork and began to walk away, clearly done with his assignment of sending the Ultima forces home.

Legion looked down at the paperwork, and then to the lawyer. He had a slow smirk on his lips as he spoke, issuing his words telepathically as a powerful command directly into the lawyers brain.
"Turn around and walk to me."
Legion looked the lawyer in the eye as he spoke, "On Levels Three and Four there is a charnel house of blood gore and body parts scattered everywhere. While your Injunction prevents us from search and seizure, it does not stop us from conducting a Investigation on the grounds of multiple homicide, which this building is now a scene of."
Legion was very well certain of this arguement, not requiring the need for "muscle" as it where. "As such, We will be conducting this investigation, and until we hear from a Federal Judge otherwise, this remains a crime scene. Please vacate the premise immediately citizen."
Moving back to Inferno, Legion spoke under his breath till he was sure the Lawyer was far enough not to hear, "That's a binding injunction...we're going to have to abide it. We got...maybe thirty minutes. Right now, *I* need to get to a psychic recorder...stat. NeXT needs to continue his data dump....this got to a very quick close for us."

Inferno nodded. "Alright. I'll tell the others we have thirty minutes to get what we can? You get to a psychic recorder, I'll see what I can do for NeXT to speed this up."

"Unless you can will the tech recovery guys to deliver more of the backups, I'm good to go. Everything that was online and on an outward connection has been transferred, as is some on the secure network." NeXT reported quietly. He'd been a -little- spooked by telepathic contact.

Ultima Regional Headquarters, Chicago, IL - Briefing Room 612
1930 hours local
The team had reported back to HQ and begun the work of filing the collected evidence while Legion had his mind and memories psychically imprinted and monitored by a doctor and two members of Ultima's PsyOps to ensure accuracy and legitimacy of the collection. After a brief respite to breathe for a few moments and grab chow they were assembled back into a conference room for a quick debrief. Hawk appeared a moment later with a stack of hard copies of the preliminary analysis of evidence.
NeXT and Alpha were present in holographic form, the AI due to lack of body and the mech due to size and weight restrictions. Everyone else was present in the flesh.
"Alright, I'll make this quick," Hawk stated as he stood before them.
"The initial analysis of evidence is promising, but it's raising all sorts of problems. First, the pill sample retrieved from the lab. It's confirmed that it contains manufactured chemical compounds designed to express latent metahuman abilities in users. We knew that much to begin with. The white coats are making all sorts of oohing and ahhing noises over this thing like it's the holy grail of biochemistry and the neatest thing since styrofoam coolers.
"What that means for us is that this is bleeding edge biochemical design and manufacturing. As I briefly covered in the preop brief, this is outside the projected capabilities of Apex. This leads us to point number two.
"Where did Apex get this? Computer records retrieved by NeXt show that they manufactured the drug in house. The files showing this were hidden deep. This wasn't an all access thing. It was restricted to only a few people. We ran a cross check of authorized personnel against the video footage we have from before the incident. This is where the bad news comes in. The people working on this thing were all in that room when this went down. And now they're all in that room as chunks of bodies.
"So, our next step. We need to find out if there was anyone else who had anything to do with this drug at Apex and find out where Apex got this drug to begin with. That will be both the easy and hard part. There's only a limited number of companies capable of this type of work, or so I've been assured by our guys down in the lab. And most every one uses some sort of 'signature' to identify their work. So we're running a deep analysis on the drug and the data to see if we can narrow it down some. But the hard part is then figuring out who leaked the data to Apex, and why. NeXT, we'll need you running pattern analysis and searching our list of possible companies and see if you can figure out the who's and how's. Legion, you're going to need to get a post-op psych eval and make sure you're all cleaned out and good to go. I don't want any residuals from this popping up later on.
"The rest of you, finish your reports and report back in at 0900. By then hopefully we'll have something to work with. Because one of our own is dead and we're sure as hell not letting this thing die because a lawyer throws us out of the game.
"Questions?"

Heidi was only half-listening, while inside the shared mind Jerri was hanging on every word.
In house? They were producing it in-house? I need the body, Heidi, I need to get to the lab and see how they worked out the problems of...
"Can it, Jerri," Heidi muttered, keeping her voice as low as possible. "You can go play with the lab-boys later."
No, I need to go now, I want to compare it to...
"No." The answer was barely a whisper, but still vehement. "I want to stay longer. If you get into the lab, you'll be there all night."
... You've had your time out, Heidi. It's my turn again. You know the rules
"Fuck the rules" Heidi hissed, still keeping her voice low. Her hand slid down to the reinforced pack on her belt that held the potions. "I've got plenty here to keep me out until tomorrow, and then I can raid the lab for more."
.......
......
If I can get in the lab and study this formula, I might find a way to modify the potion make it last longer per dose.
Heidi's hand remained on the potion pack, her eyes hard. "Nice try. No."
Then you better drink it fast, since you're out of time.
"What?!" The exclamation was aloud, as Heidi's head jerked towards the clock on the wall. "SHit shit shit..." She fumbled to open the potions grabbing a vial out of the many held securely in place, and the vial dropped as the first shudders hit.
"No... no..........." Heidi moaned, bowing forward in her chair as the change took over. Short tight reddish-blond curls grew rapidly into long golden waves, the muscular body losing tone and firmness, becoming softer and more feminine. As the shuddering stopped, a smaller, more delicate hand rose to pull the long hair out of her face.
"My apologies, Hawk," Jerri said calmly. "Heidi lost track of time again. I'd like to study the sample in the lab myself, sir, if we have enough of the pill to go around."
You bitch. You fuckin' bitch. You knew it was time, and didn't tell me?
Jerri ignored Heidi's frustrated ranting, as she had done for over a decade of sharing her body with her 'twin'. It was always the same, Heidi ranting about *Jerri* not telling her when to take the potion. When it was Her Time, Heidi kept a watchful eye on the clock, but whenever Jerri had to bring her out early Heidi was more careless.
This was why Jerri kept a special lock on the cabinet with the potion, brewing new batches only as one was used. Heidi could and would use every last potion to stay out as long as possible, then rant and sulk for the two days it took for a new batch to mature.

Hawk hid his emotions fairly well. There was something of surprise and mild amusement watching Gemini's change. He coughed politely.
"I'm really going to have to get a schedule from you...you two?... from one of ...yeah, I'm gonna need a schedule of who's who when just so I can keep track.
"Moving on! I figured you'd want a shot at the drug. We're going to want every mind on this so have at it. Just tell the geeks to play nice and share. Maybe you'll find something they missed. Anything at this point is good.
"Anyone else?"

Jerri's lip twisted wryly. There was a schedule, posted on her door and in her Bio on the hours that she had the body and the hours Heidi had it. "I'm sorry, sir," Jerri replied nicely. "Missions like this turn the schedule on its head. Heidi will have the body again in 3 hours."
THREE HOURS! WHY THAT LONG!?!
Jerri winced only a little at Heidi's mental shout, and decided to get Heidi back for it. "Mike, she wants to know if you'll be free for dinner."

Mike grinned, looking over at Jerri. "You know, I think my schedule just suddenly cleared up." He said playfully. "I'd be happy to have dinner with her."
