Legacies looked at Argent as she made her comment. "You should know by now that we do not eat anyone. Simply crush them into oblivion." The silver creature followed the tour, and once it was done moved off down a hall, stopping at a door Argent had ignored. He briefly considered asking her about the door but decided against it.

"The little fuck is very good about handling toxins," said Blackheart. "Its handy in the field, but makes pain killers a bitch. Add in the occasional diamond tipped drill biopsy and you get the picture. Nothing short of a dose lethal to an ordinary human is going to make a dent in this sucker. Hmm." He read the label. "No more than two tablets every four hours, maximum of six in a day." He poured out eight and washed them down.

"I'm surprised you only took eight, then," she said, taking the glass when he handed it back. Dare I? Should I? ... well... he can always say no.

"If you want, I can stay til you're out."

"Guestimation is a bitch," said Blackheart. "Quad normal dose is a good starting point. And yeah, I would like that. Thanks."

"I owe you," she said, setting the glass down on the nightstand and looking around. Great... what happened to the chair that was in here? She shook her head as a shadow chair half-formed, sitting down instead on the bed beside him and offering her hand yet again. "Keep trusting me like this you might make an honest woman out of me."

"Too late for that, I think," said Blackheart as he began to drift off. "I would have to know how to be an honest man to even begin. Thanks Argent." He yawned and his eyes fluttered closed.

"Li Na... remember?" she said softly, watching him fall unconcious. Part of her wanted to curl up next to him and sleep herself. Another part reminded her she had guests, and probably needed to shop for more food. David had mentioned wanting steak. There was a grill in the kitchen, although Ember was the one who played with the flames, not her.

Until then, she waited patiently for the pills to take full effect, letting them take over the job of pain control. David was asleep long before then.

He felt nothing at all when the prisoner sought and found oblivion. The utter emptiness within his heart did not surprise him. Argent took them to that realm of hers and upon their arrival he allowed his eyes to dart around their new surroundings. This was better than he had expected the sort of place he wished to retire to one day but doubted he would easily afford. A moment later, Argent was explaining the ground rules and he took her words fairly seriously even if they did not directly apply to him. His plan had never been to sneak uninvited into her bed, where was the fun in that?

He followed her and Blackheart as she showed them around. He concentrated his attention on the house rather than the pair that led them about, it was simpler that way. His eyes flickered about the gathered group before he spoke.

“If at all possible I would like a room upstairs.â€

The only sound that came from Blackheart's room was the door slowly opening and closing about 15minutes later, and steps quietly going down the staircase as Li Na left David to sleep it off.

As she passed through the house, she stopped by the utility room to remove a roll of pre-packaged steaks from the large storage freezer, leaving them unopened on the kitchen counter to start thawing. A quick check of the pantry and fridge showed her that the cleaning lady still did her job: all the food was fresh that week. Li Na would have to stock up, however. Eight men in the house would eat a lot of food, if the pizza parlor was any indication.

One of the marvels of modern life, however, was the computer-ordered grocery list. She could either pick it up herself, or have it delivered. But... best to wait and see how long they'd be there first.

Out of the kitchen, through the cozy little breakfast nook with its view of the patio/lanai and pool, across the family room she went, opening the door that least to -her- part of the house. A nice hot shower ... although she'd love a dip in the pool right now.

Argent wrote:The answer was breathed more than spoken, but backed by a reservoir of dark emotions. "Get. away. from. me."
"I am sorry about that, I tried to make that as comfortable as possible. I guess I will have to try harder next time." Nodding understandably, Tholos removed his hands from Li Na's face and slowy backed away to stand next to Tasat once more.
Bloody Good wrote:"Before I begin, I want to tell you that your masters taught me everything that I intend to do to you. Remember this when you see them, and tell them that I will hear their screams just as they heard mine."
"Remember Tasat, we want to get information out of him, not drive him insane." said Tholos.
Argent wrote:A large house blocked one side, while a wall enclosed the deck without hiding the grand view down the hillside to the fog-strewn city sprawling far below.
This place is amazing, to think that they take these places for granted. Lost in the splendor of the house, Tholos didn't really hear what Li Na was saying until the word "bath" was mentioned. "A bath you say? I agree with Tasat, I'm tired of smelling like an Athenian whore's crotch. A shave and a haircut would be nice as well."

Blast was in a state of emotional flux... One one hand he had a first hand witness of Christ slamming open the gates of Hell and the first wave of Salvation... Such eyewitness testimony made for a level of... excitement and joy, if he chose to believe these two he was the first Christian since Tomas to have physical proof of the resurcation in his grasp...

On the other hand these two were admitted members of the damned and questors for what was possibly the dark reflection of the word that began creation itself and a part of him gibbered at being so close to men who had through their own free will become so close to demonic. He needed space and time.

He walked over to Gravtius and literally tugged on his sleeve.

"Can we talk?" He said jerking his head into another room.

"Of course." Gravitas walked with Blast into the room, tilting his head. "You alright? You've certainly had a rough day for someone still getting used to this..." The Nova looked over the energy-manipulator, as if to check for wounds. "And I can't imagine the two dead guys are much comfort."

Blast took off his mask and sat down heavily.

"I'm Catholic. Listening to them makes me wildly excited and scared to death. I mean... They saw Christ come back and shatter the gates of hell, I'm the first living Christian since Doubting Tomas to have that kinda evidence... If I chose to take them at face value. On the flip side... They're the damned. They chose to become demonic in nature and that fucking terrifies me. If I chose to take them at face value. I mean do you get what they were looking for? The dark side of the word of creation for the love of all that's holy!" Blast whispered darting glances at the door.

"Relax, they're having a bath." Gravitas soothed gently as Blast paranoidly looked at the door. "They won't hear. Yes, they sought.. And found, terrifyingly enough, what sounds like the Last Word. Thankfully, they could never properly assemble and speak it, because that'd be bad. Very bad."

He put a hand on the young man's shoulder. "Would it help if I confirmed it too? That he did in fact go down there and break the gate? I know it happened. I'm... admittably confused how they saw it, but don't worry about that. As for choosing to be demonic..." A shrug. "They were sent down. They were punished in horrific ways. And yes, they took a Word of Power that's not one of the nice ones. But.. Stop and think. They're fighting the demons. They want to stop this. They risked their butts to do so. Isn't it a good thing that they seem to be at least trying to make right? Doesn't that prove that everyone's basically able to redeem themselves?"

Blast did feel better to know they wouldn't hear them.

"You seem a bit young to have seen it... As for the rest, are we sure they seeking redemption and not just revenge? I think we have to work with them either way, we need the firepower. Still they make me nervous, are we sure they won't cross after the job's done and there's power lying around?" Blast replied running a hand through his hair. Well he told himself good news is your faith is firmly validated, bad news is if you go down you have no excuse.

"I'm over a hundred. We Novas can live extremely long times and don't show it. Besides, I've drank Ambrosia." Gravitas grinned a little. "But yes. I've seen the gates, shattered and twisted by the power of a man who was more than even me." Stop the presses, Gravitas just admitted there are more powerful beings than himself.

"And as for those two? I'm wary. I want to think they are seeking redemption or just doing it because it's the right thing. I want to see that humans are basically good. But I'll keep my guard up. If it goes ugly, we stop them. If they are good guys.. Well, things could go well."

Blast took a deep breath. It was strange by all rights he and Gravy there shouldn't get along... But he liked the guy and frankly he was a comfort to have around... The team could still use more ladies in it but can't have everything.

"Well we haven't lost to badly yet. Guess we'll just have to keep our eyes open and hope. Is it me or is the Spartan there kinda touchy?" He stood up and popped his back. Bouncing off to many apartment buildings Tobin, gonna sound like an old man everytime you get up to pee in the night at this rate.

"High strung, definately. With any luck he'll settle down now we don't have demons on us. Though I suspect they'll find us before too long, if they found us in Chicago." He shrugged. "We'll win. Don't worry."

Blast nodded. Course they would win... If they lost they would die which meant literally speaking those mortal universes didn't exist for them. He grabbed his mask and slipped it on.

"You're right. I best see about a bedroom and such as well." He headed out and stopped at the door.

"Thanks for the talk man, I owe ya." He said.

It took Tasat less time to find a room than it did for him to discover how plumbing worked by a process of trial and error. After expending much hot water and steam, he was clean again. Choosing not to use the razor under the sink or the scissors in the drawer, he still looked like a muscle-bound hippie. All he needed were peace-sign glasses and a brightly colored van.

It was nearly an hour before he left the room, smelling like flowery shampoo and clad in a baby-blue bathrobe he'd found.

Li Na emerged from the Master Suite, her long black hair hanging wetly down her back. She was clad in another pair of ass-hugging jeans and a shirt with fair warning that she was in a more playful mood.

Which is why she stopped and stared at Tasat in the short bathrobe and sniggered. "Perhaps you should ask to borrow something from one of the men." Ok... need to go shopping again, and get all the guys more manly toiletries. YlangYlang is just too flowery for a man.

"Holy hell man! Did you invite Poseidon in there with you for a nice chat while you were in there!?" Although Tholos spent just as much time in the bathroom as Tasat, he did come out clean shaven and with freshly cut hair. Having the foresight to wash the clothes that he and Tasat had been wearing in the tub before he got in himself, he was able to put on those same clothes, now dry and smelling much better. This stroke of genius kept him from having to fashion a toga out of bedsheets due to Tasat claiming the only robe.

Now feeling like a whole man again, Tholos grabbed his weaponry and went out into the family room, where he found plenty of space to lay them out and a good spot to sit which put him right in front of the large windows that he could look out of.

Anyone coming across him would find that he was sharpening and polishing his weapons and shield with an almost reverent form of meditation.

Where was Gravitas? Look up.

Sitting on the vaulted ceiling of the living room, well above everyone's heads, the Nova had assumed a Lotus position and was apparently in meditation. Best not to think too hard about the fact he's sitting on the ceiling.

Ghost stood back, not knowing what to expect. What he had just seen was not it. "What the fuck?" He asked, staring at Mindborn. He looked at the other people. "What the hell is this?" He demanded. Though he had a good idea. Ghost figured that Mindborn was experiencing Frank Pratt's last moments.
