Well worth the time away from my computer. I just caught up, and you are once again sneaky with the surprises. Great job!

Hmmm.... The Doctor doesn't wear armor, usually. I keep forgetting that. Of course, I'm pretty sure this Doctor has been getting knocked around more than THE Doctor. The Doctor isn't finding himself in the middle of firefights and such like this Doctor is.

One could see it as the real Doctor being better at getting into trouble than the SIDoc, who therefore needs the extra protection.

In truth I was motivated by two things: continuing argument from some readers that it was stupid he wasn't trying to get at least some protection given how often he gets roughed up, and following through on the logic of the characters. He's become an adopted uncle of sorts to Molly's siblings, so it'd make sense that Charity would use leftover materials for Michael's armor to sew together an armor-lined vest for him.

Not just any vest, though. A Chekhov's Vest.

Great job, you had me on the edge of my seat, even though I *knew* they'd win. Playing the music set the tense atmosphere, I admit.

Ok... complication #1 was just fine -- The Doc meets his own creation and has to find out how to get out of a barrier safely, without blowing up the ship or the TARDIS.
Complication #2, ok, added drama -- fix the TARDIS, the Aurora, and the bubble while trying not to blow up or blow the Kromags up.
Complication #3, Red Court Vampires. --

--

--

-- OK, now you've gone a bit overboard with the complications imho. They really weren't necessary, either as added drama or o point out just how bad things are. About the only thing that needed said here was this little meeting might (*MIGHT*) be one of the reason for the Cracks in the other dimensions.

I thought the story would be stretched if I did anymore.

Varrick is like that one guy in the middle of the bar fight who picks up his drink and calmly carries it through the whole fight without even spilling a drop. There is seriously no way to keep him down. I've always wondered how much of Varrick's success (and escape from life-threatening danger) is actually Zhu Li's doing. Yes, she's been portrayed as the ultimate obedient secretary, but I always wonder how many times she's been the driving force behind that relationship.

It's kinda Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, if you think about it -- the playboy inventor and the quiet woman handing al the real work of the business behind the scenes

I had to look up what Kamina City was, and why it was important.

Still... yes. A very, very good stand-alone story. Bravo, Steve. The Doctor can't heal stupid.

UPGRADED
Yes, it's the bloody Cybermen. Added in with the Machine Empire and all the fun of Giant Robots fighting each other. Are you going to go full on and have the 'Zoids taken over too?

Yes, of course the Crack is on Luna -- it's been a base for HOW many villians now? This Luna is more the Mythical Mini-Earth than our own satellite; thus the atmosphere, climate, and water(?) to support life.

Now, we turn to Katara. Like most Waterbenders, the waxing and waning of her world's Moon affects her abillities, up to the point a Full Moon lets her control the very fluid in a person's body. BloodBending is not a common trick, thankfully, but it is based on Waterbending Healing. So, the big question is how strong is that bond between Bender and Luna. Is it just the Tidal Forces, or is it Luna Herself?
If it's Luna, Katara might be overwhelmed by the energy, like she was before.
