Ok, I swear my short term memory is definitely shit.

I'm eating cereal now and there should have only been milk left in the bowl, but I just looked down now and there are Peanut Butter Crunch in it. I don't remember putting more in.....

Alright, crazy idea here:

So where two hills meet, you often have a slope going downhill where water can easily run. What if we build little tiny dams across those slopes to slow the flow of water during heavy rain? It can be something as simple as piling some rocks where the main path of water would be, or not even that, just logs and sticks that can catch debris. The idea isn't so much to hold water so much as slow its flow so the water will soak into the ground more instead of just running off.

It's something that'd probably have to be maintained constantly, as the erosion would constantly be trying to wear them away, but having a lot of little blockages would stretch the time between servicing as the water would never get flowing hard enough to wash any of them away.

So what do you think? Did I spend too much time repo-ing people today?

That may also be why I suddenly got this sudden fear today that I might have once had to say, "I don't think mitochondria count when invoking the racist One Drop Rule," in all seriousness.

Yeah, a diagram would help, wouldn't it?

So to justify my post here - they had deep-fried chocolate covered bacon at the Iowa State Fair. Yes, they fry bacon, cover it with chocolate, and then deep-fry the sucker again. It can give people heart attacks at forty meters. So I have to wonder why someone would do it. Is it just someone taking terrible food ideas to their logical extreme or intentional premeditated random murder?

I like chocolate, and I like bacon, but I don't see how you can mix the two and end up with anything other than a desperate need for a coronary bypass.

While bacon usually isn't, chocolate is a big ingrediant in a lot of high end cuisine that you normally wouldn't ever think to put it in. Hell, I've put chocolate into chili before and had it turn out amazing. But yes, the dish Maya describes is a heart attack on a stick.

But do they deep-fry it afterward? Hmm?

Another random thought: you know how I'll be sad when goatees go out of style? I will be quite glad when this "shave off your eyebrows and draw one on" thing for women goes out of style. Ugh, it is so ugly!

Not to mention stupid and uncomfortable, I'd imagine, especially when exercising.

And no, we don't deep fry it. You see, we like to live to enjoy it again and again.

Have a very nice day.

I wonder if someone, somewhere, has built a tickling machine, to see if people can tickle themselves if it's indirect. A subset of that is wondering if it was a grad student and if grant money was involved.

Soon the Dead Sea will be an even more amusing name than it already is. The sea has shrunk so much since I've last seen it.

No, cause then we'd not have time to try it on to see if it fit.

Because No Two Clothiers can ever run the same damn size.

Ominous steel drum music: a possibility? I don't mean, attempting to and failing with hilarious results. I mean, could one compose a piece of music for steel drum that genuinely is scary?

Also, why would you name your kid [Your Name] Jr? It's a combination of a painful lack of imagination plus implying that your kid is only a knock-off version of yourself. It just seems insulting, at best.

I am not being checked for rabies. I may have rabies, and no one cares.

I probably do not have rabies. It's just fun to worry.

Because far more worrying is the workplace kitchen. Yuck.

I wonder if there's a disproportionate number of couples whose first names start with the same letter or sound. I see quite a number, but it's hard to tell if it's selection bias or not. Do I just remember them because they stand out, or does it happen more often than average because having a name that starts the same is a point of connection for people?
