You and Rukia are excused, you're supervillains after all. But what about the rest of the board?
Incidentally Dartzap reports excessive memory useage (something I can neither confirm nor deny at this time).

CPU useage went back up to 90+%, went down the moment I closed the chat, and remains single figure % despite me having reopened the chat. I'm officially confused.

We do have the option of going with a linked setup to a ZIRC IRC server. The only complication with that would be the fact that ZIRC just went to banning all AOL users.

Dunno if we have any AOLers here.

For Dartzap's memory problem, no clue what's doing that, sure you got the latest version of the Flash Plugin?

When Version 5 of this software comes out, I'll be obtaining it, as it seems that the next version will give a optional, nonflash interface.

No ETA on when that'll be though, the site only says sometime this year....

Batman: your error, no idea what the hell is causing it...nothing about it has changed that I'm aware of since we were chatting in it yesterday afternoon. restarting Firefox doesn't fix it?

...try redownloading and reinstalling the plugin.

Just did. Made no difference. The chat (which ran stable for hours when nobody was on-typical) crashed on me thrice in a matter of minutes, hung on opening, and now is back to the illegal operation. I swear this thing has a personal grudge against me.
(Before anyone asks FF is working fine otherwise).

Works perfectly fine with SlimBrowser now. WTF?
Looks like the problem is with my FF/the Flash plugin (despite nothing having changed on the server NOR the client side).
I think it's not FF itself at that is working fine (and seems to work OK with the chat for everyone but me) and I reinstalled the bloody Flash plugin. I'm reasonably certain there's a way to manually uninstall plugins but I can't for the life of me find the option for that.
If anybody has any ideas I'm all ears (well, eyes with this being a text-based medium but you get my gist).
UPDATE: I just got the 'illegal operation' error message in standard FF so it seems the problem lies with my Flash plugin (which would explain why it works fine with SlimBrowser).
2nd UPDATE: And while I STILL get the illegal operation message elsewhere that uses Flash the Chat seems to work fine now on FF. I have no idea what to make of this.

Is it just my timing or is this Chat just as dead as the last one? I realize I'm temporally out of sync with most of the board but so far it seems if this chat consumes any resources whatsoever, it's a waste of those.
It would be a pity, the chat seemed to be active enough the first weekend, and technically apart from the inability to do formatting via textual tags I like it (mostly), but if nobody uses it what's the point?

Batman, there is only 147 regstered users. The chat simply cannot be busy 24 hours a day.

Frigid, I don't expect it to. But from what I can tell so far the chat is never busy. If that's just because of me being one of three or so europeans here I can happily live with that.
Well not happily but I can accept that. So far, alas, it seems to be comatose, period.
If I'm wrong about that and you're all on all the time except when i'm awake, good for you. By all means keep it open.
I can only judge from what I see.

I'm not expecting the chat to be massively hugely busy, and there's many times I see people in the chat, almost as oftgen as I don't see people in.

but, lets be honest, we have such a small asmount of active users on the board anyway..there's no way the chat will be always active, hell, the board isn't always active.

But as we get more active users, and things fall into place, then it we will draw more traffic.

I found something wrong with the chat in SlimBrowser, too! WHEE!
It still occasionally gives me the blue swirly background despite me having chosen plain white. Dealt with easily enough, just as before (check/unckeck 'show background') so just a FYI.

It should be very easy, and I'd support having it instead of silly FAQ.
