Just soliciting opinions here (and a note to self).
I am thinking about starting a blog, partially inspired by the outstanding Showtime series Penn and Teller's Bullshit!, which I have been watching all day the last couple days. Outstanding show.
Anyhow, I have been ranting randomly at times about certain things that are Bullshit, and am thinking putting my rants all together might be a good idea.
Mostly, I would have to focus on computer subjects. First few ideas are Web design is Bullshit, and Linux / Macs are immune to malware claims are Bullshit. Maybe some of the Windows is built on DOS bullshit too. Then, proceed to explain why it is bullshit, provide some code examples where possible, and end it by saying Fuck you, just for fun. And call some of the perpetrators of these lies assholes.
Of course, take comments from readers.
I might touch upon politics too, but everyone does that, and I am quite a bit less knowledgeable on most those issues anyway.
Good idea? Bad idea? Got any topic suggestions?
(I was torn between putting this thread here or in Testing, but decided to go here since I seem to overuse Testing for my random crap as it is. If I made the wrong call, feel free to bump this out to testing)
Considering starting a blogy thing on IT Bullshit: opinions?

I say go for it. If I was more knowledgable, I'd have done it by now.
Hell, make a blog on the server, and have fun with it. It'd be fun to read at times.

Sweet. I'll be getting started pretty soon. Few more topics that are coming to mind:
Firefox hype is bullshit.
IE only websites are bullshit.
Anti-virus is bullshit.
Probably something on the GPL as well, but not sure what. Considering I am pro-GPL, it'd be hard to really fit it in when talking about bullshit.
I imagine these articles are going to take a while to write; I want to properly research them so it is a little more than me just using curse words.
What I will probably do it mirror the pages on the server; I will be writing them as pretty bland HTML (with a little program on the side to automatically generate headers and menus for me). I won't be using any kind of blog software. (That might be another idea for a topic, dynamic web pages, but that would be more informative than myth debunking.)
