Usually Tev does the Holiday stuff. But she's in Boston and I'm in my parents house with everyone at work or asleep.

So!

To my fellow Christians, rejoice the savior is born!

To my fellows not of the faith...

Peace on Earth and Good Will to Men (yes, and the ladies to).

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Happy ChristmaHannuKwanzaa, everyone. May it be happy, have good memories, good drink, and be so damn full you can't possibly eat anymore - even to risk going up a belt size.

As for me, I'll be working on that day, and then getting "family time" over with as fast as possible that weekend.

Merry Winter Thingy! Remember to burn those trees bright, remind the sun it's got a job to do. ;)

More seriously, good tidings to all.

...
I realize I live in a universe that has some of the silliest villain gimmicks in existence (Captain Boomerang comes to mind) but I'm supposed to be afraid of a yo-yo?

Clearly you're a Philistine who's never played the NES game Startropics.

I've never played any NES game period. In fact I never played a console game at all (excepting that racing game my sister has for whatever console it is they have. Lead character's a fox if I recall correctly) PC gamer down to the core, and proud of it

I have no words. The gamer in me weeps for your lack of proper experience in gaming geekery.

I played Pirates!, Maniac Mansion and Zac McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders when they originally came out. I played the Goldbox Games when they originally came out. I played Dogs of War, It Came from the Desert and Millenium 2.2 & Deuteros in the not-sucky Amiga versions.
I easily outgeek you by 15 years if not more.

...Are you seriously trying to play the Old Man Tech card here? Nice try cupcake, but I remember amber monochrome, followed by the Apple 2c and 2e, the mainstay of elementary schools in America before they got steadily more lame.

mmmm...Oregon Trail...

......Try the Apple II, Amber Monochrome on the 8088 (my first computer...ahh..had a whopping 30mb harddrive on it!), Using DOS for my main OS with no Menu software....

I wrote entire games in basic! Tic-Tac-Toe, a Choose your own adventure game.....

ahh...those were fun days...

Honestly Detective...you need better "Old Man" card plays....

-goes off to ponder satellite based yo-yo weapons of mass doom-

Okay, Christmas. The next posts had better be about Holiday cheer or I whip out the mod colors.

Everyone at work expected me to be the "Bah, Humbug" person at work, but nah. It has been a wonderful day; quiet, and I am grateful for both - I am also grateful for the 1.5x pay for (not) working (much at all) today.

My next door neighbor invited my grandfather over for Christmas dinner, so I breathed a sigh of relief - I worried about him feeling alone today.
