Couple of questions about the governing structure of the EA of Babylon 5.

Do any of the colonies have representation in the Senate?

Do colonists have the vote? (yes several of the characters discussed their voting choices in the Earth Presidental election but most of them are Earth born also they're military, I think it possible that a colonial serving in EarthForce would be granted the vote, especially an officer).

Who is represented in the Senate and how is representation determined?

Also it was mentioned in the later seasons by one of the minor characters on Mars (Garbadi's rich ex-girlfriend married to a prick) that the courts always favor Earth born, are judges across the EA appointed by Earth with no local judges or what?

I am not sure. But in eathforce, the old countries (the russian consortium, african block etc) are the local government bodies of the EA. They send senators. I imagine, and this is speculation, that each colony only gets one senator and thus are weaker. They dont have the clout they need to affect judicial appointments.

So I'm poking around and I found something interesting.

There's not a lower house in the EA, in the sense that each nation/state has its own various houses, and its own leader, but that leader is also part of the EA senate. One per nation/state. Each nation/state has its own constitution, but must not contravene the larger principles of the EA constitution.

That suggests to me that the colonies do not have Senators. Any thoughts?
