So then, whose off to get the last of the Potter series at midnight then?
I'll be going to pick my copy up slightly later on in the day, due to various reasons related to my sanity

I've got one reserved. The only one I've ever got at midnight was a complete accident. I happened to be at Wal-Mart at 11:45 or so the night the Fourth book came out and they were setting the display and I nabbed one and just wasted time till midnight to check out.
There are some events around here for the release. But nothing I'd miss sleep over. I just want my book and I'm guaranteed one.
I've heard that Scholastic is sueing some distributers for releasing the book early.

Okay, spoilers follow.
[size=0]
The Good:
Ministry break in, the run, Ron and everyone breaking up, the wedding falling apart. Basically everything was perfect, untill Godric hallow.
Not saying wasn't good after that, but it had mehhy parts.
The Bad:
The deathly Hallows, as a concept, rocked. As it ended, the ressurecting stone was USELESS and served to do nothing except give harry a chat with his real parts and a chance to apologise to Lupin.
But the Elder Wand? Ew.
And finnaly, the fight leading to up the climax was made of win. Harry, goes alone and faces Voldemort. And dies. Or Not. He comes back, in a very nicely written mental scene. Fakes being dead by being nice to Narcissia. Then, when all hope is lost... thank you Centaurs, thank you everyone, and thank you fucking Neville for proving what he's in Gryffindor for.
The motherfucking awesome: The hogwarts fight, or better yet, hogwarts preparation scene. Anyone who thinks it doesn't have powers is mistaken. Sure, they're not storm troopers, but a bunch of M-16s are not going to take that place. Unless M-16s can stop their wearers from chocking on gases, being over-run by metals, trampled by desks...
The ugly: Jesus.Fucking.H Christ, that was the most annoying epilogue. EVER.

I roamed to the nearest grocery store at 12:15 and waited for about 20 minutes to check out with it. Go me.
And then I came home and read it in 5 and a half hours.

I thought it was pretty good, personally.

I'm not going to spoil it. I think that would be an injustice to those who have been there from the beginning.
I literally grew up with these characters and it's a bit saddening to see it end. But I was very happy with the way it ended. Even though I was reluctant to actually finish reading it. All I have to look forward to now is the movies. Leaves a bit of an empty feeling to end a Legacy.
It was as well written as the rest of the books were. Answered a lot of questions, and finally tied everything up.

It seemed a little contrived, like she had to tie ALL of these strings together all at once. It feels like the series was written in stages, without a whole lot of thought to the overarching theme. Whiiiiiich it probably was.
