So I've been grooving to the show "Lost Girl" on Canada's Showcase channel. It's all Umbras's fault for getting me started. It's about a woman who drains energy from people during sex and finds out that she's a kind of fae. The fae live secretly among us and there are many different kinds of fae and they are organized into two camps, light and dark. The main character ends up being a part of neither and sort of working as a PI. The humour is pretty good, the supporting characters are interesting, and there's an overarching metaplot involving fae politics and the secrets of her origin.

Yeah, she's a succubus. She's killed every human she's had sex with, but Fae can shut her down. Learning to control her powers is one of the carrots dangled in front of her to get her allegiance. The energy she takes heals her and is a power up. She can also use it to fuel a seductive version of the mind trick.
