This actually looks awesome. Kinda looks like Tony developed the Extremus tech/virus for the Iron Man tech, and he's experiencing a fall from grace.

The Stars and Stripes iteration of the power armour looks patently silly. Prior to Thor/The Avengers, I would have been dubious about the Mandarin as a villain as 1 and 2 were all tech, but with the mystic element firmly in place in the Marvel movieverse they can do him right.
And Tony really should NOT have built that mansion on a cliff.

The Mandarin's rings are some sort of super alien indistinguishable from magic tech these days anyway, IIRC. It can easily be played that way in the movie for sure, and he is pretty much the iconic Iron Man villain.
So... yeah, I'm hopeful. I wasn't so keen on the last one, which had some cool Downey moments but didn't have the heart of the original. But this could be really really cool.

Also, the Red White and Blue armor is probably Rhodey's War Machine outfit, not Tony's armor.

I never said it was Tony's power armour now did I? Which, technically, the War Machine armour from IM2 would still be as Rhodey stole that one from Tony.

Looks like Tony's got PTSD from New York.

As much of a fan as I am of Ben Kingsley, I've gotta say...
They couldn't find an Asian actor to play Mandarin? Really?
I mean, don't get me wrong, Kingsley is great and I am certain I will love him as the Mandarin. Just thinking that in this day and age it should be possible to be able to count on A-level performances from people who aren't American or British.

How hard would it have been for the director of this movie to just shrug, pick up his phone, and call the South Korea version of Hollywood (or whomever), and say "Alright look, I need a guy to play the Mandarin."
Oh, right - since actually using an actor of the same (or similar) ethnicity of the character they're portraying is... edgy? If this was done however, it might result in more interesting movies.

Or it might not. A lot of those ethnicities stem from an age where ethnicity (especically east vs west) figured into the us vs them (with them usually being the Bad Guys) conflicts that simply no longer exist ,or at least no longer to the same extent as they did then. Is the Mandarin being portrayed by an asian actor just because the Mandarin has always been asian in the comics really more important than the actor portraying him doing a good job at it? I'd bring up the Kingpin being black not making the least bit of differrence in DD but apparently I'm the only person who liked that movie anyway.

1) Most versions of the Mandarin have him being of mixed ethnicity.
2) Ben Kingsley was born with the name Krishna Pandit Bhanji.
So chill.
P.S. If this works out a quarter as well as casting a black man as Heimdall it will be awesome.

Ah, I didn't know he was mixed ethnicity, just that he was of Asian decent and was a descendent of Genghis Khan (a much greater claim to fame before genetic testing showed that in all likelyhood he and hundreds of thousands of people do, I hope that comes up in the movie as snark from Tony.)
I know Ben Kingsley is Indian in descent, and I am chill as I stated in my first post that as it is Ben freaking Kingsley I am sure I will love him as the Mandarin. I mean, it's Ben freaking Kingsley.

Yeah, there's that. And, he was at least holding down the character in the trailer. I'll reserve judgement until I've seen the movie, then.
