From Traveller, I present the ubiquitous Scoutship...

(I didn't draw these btw, I'm just giving you a reference to what it looks like, externally)

And now my deckplan:

I have to say I'm pretty proud of it. The resolution doesn't do it justice, however.

To give you a reference point for what the Scout/courier is equivalent to, it's to Traveller what the Millenium Falcon is to Star Wars - a small ship which carries a small team of explorers or adventurers, robust in design and reliable in use.

Each stateroom can accomodate two people, comfortably that is. You just put in a bunk. If you hot bunk, each stateroom can accomodate four people, but the stateroom can only be accessed by two for half a day.

You can squeese more people onto the ship, but this will overburden the life-support system. Eight people is the maximum number of people that can be crewed on the ship without taxing the life support. You don't need that many anyway. The Type S Scout/Courier is particularly robust. One 'jack of all trades' type could fly it by himself, though he'd be running all over the place in an emergency.
I recall Traveller doesn't have the magic replicatior tech of ST right?
The technology in Traveller is variable. Some worlds will be in a stone age, some will be in 20th C level technology, other worlds will be 'average interstellar' or higher, and some worlds (where mysterious aliens live or Scout ships have disappeared... muahahahaha) will have... higher tech.

There's no replicator tech as per ST. Advanced forms of Fusion Reactors do have transmutation properties. Gravitics is fantastic - low-end, you have flying cars or 'grav belts' that makes you look like you wear a rocket pack. High end, you have floating cities.
