My Chinese is very rusty, but I believe that the voiceover announcers there post-detonation were talking about how this bomb would vaporize the sub-human denizens of several other countries mentioned by name. I caught the names of America, Britain, and Russia in the broadcast as well as the words for "bastard children" alongside America. I'm not sure what that's all about.

Funny, the person who linked me the video expressed the same belief, but that's not what it's saying. If follow the link back to the YouTube page, it contains a translation of the voice over. It's basically just bragging about how the People's Republic went from fission to fusion in record time, and how their first fusion bombs are much lighter and smaller than America's or the Soviet Union's. It ends with a quote from an astonished Chinese Marshall exclaiming that 3 megatons is enuff dakka quite sufficient.

I'm not in any way an expert, but I thought I clearly heard "Mei Guo, Yi Jiu Er Ni Bao Da" which would... possibly at least, come to "America's firstborn bastards". Chinese is a highly idiomatic language, which means that could mean practically anything, including some reference to our first fusion weapons. But classically at least, that forms part of a threat to erase your enemy's misbegotten line of misshapen bastards through fire and sword.

I don't want to pretend I know for certain what they're talking about, but it stuck out to me anyway.

The provided translation seems accurate for the beginning, given the tone of voice and the unmistakeable cadence of a countdown. It also seems accurate for the end, because I'm fairly certain "go la" means "quite enough". The middle part I wouldn't know, but the tone of voice fits bragging about China's technological prowess much more than it does crying out for blood. I find it most likely that they were referring to the unwieldiness of the first fusion devices.

Oh right, you probably copied the address and YouTube these days uses https rather than plain http. The [youtube] command in this board doesn't work with https for some reason, so you have to remove the s.
