As marketing for the remake of Carrie, which I honestly have no interest in seeing, it was pretty good. I mean, how would you react if you were a customer in this coffee shop, and didn't know it was a setup?

The moment people and things started flying, I think my initial reaction would be "Huh, that's interesting", and I would start looking for how it was being done. It's difficult to keep effects like that hidden from that close a range.

I freely admit, I'd have been one of the ones jumping up and backing out. The "how did they do that" would have come in later.

Yeah, I have no idea how I'd react, but even though I don't believe in stuff like telekinesis and so on I'd still probably twitch out pretty hard.

One time we were taking a guided excursion around the Tovar Colony, which is Venezuela's own little slice of Baden-Wurttenberg. The guides took the tour group to a forested area just outside the town, it was pretty. Then one of them jumped from behind a tree, roaring in a gorilla suit. I didn't really react, not even in surprise, as I happened to a ways away and looking directly at the tree. My sister's reaction, however, has become family legend, "Hey, look it's a man in a gorilla- AAAAAHH! *hides behind her sister*"
My fear response isn't on a delay trigger like hers, but I can be just as jumpy. If that telekinesis prank was played on either of us, we'd know it's a trick immediately, but we might still jump back in fear regardless. ^_^;
