kris and I are torn between purple and gray, so I am soliciting y'all for input.

These are extremely rough mocks that have not yet seen the touch of our cover artist, so whichever gets picked they'll come out looking much better with the requisite extra text elements and so on.





Before some smartass asks, there is no green because green is the probable color for the fifth book.

I'm more partial to grey. I'd vote for the first one.

I voted for purple, it's more eye catching. Also Josh, I'm about 3/4ths of the way through my current book (a monstrous tome about the Japanese Empire in WWII, it's amazing, but big) but once that is done Warpworld book I is next.

Okay, 3-1 lead on purple so far.

Honestly I'm exactly at 50-50 between them myself, so this is very helpful. All contributions as to why you favor one over the other are helpful too.

And cool beans, Garv. I'm still slogging through that one on Lawrence that I told you about.

I went purple as it was more immediately catching to the eye.

Gray is too dull.

That one vote for grey is mine. I feel it goes much better with the title, as grey is what I would associate with ghosts and spirits and such. Also purple lightning and clouds looks like I've seen it before in a way that the grey clouds with white lightning doesn't.

Grey looks sharper and more bleak, given the name is "Ghost World", I feel it fits better.

That and the purple looks garish in this case.

I think we're going to end up going with purple, but at least opinion here is about as evenly divided as it was for us.

One thing we're also looking at is how it blends with the other covers in the series.





The purple compliments the B1 cover better, sharply contrasts the B2 cover, whereas the gray does the opposite.

Also, big thank you everybody from both of us. Love the input, it's very very helpful.

I was leaning towards purple for eyecatchingness, but the grey seems a better progression from the first two covers.

One factor to consider: I'm strongly leaning toward black for the 4th book cover, and we're almost certain that the final one will be green.

Well, if you have a green cover, you have to have a purple cover or you'll be leaving half the Drazi customer base on the table.

Initial mock from our artist. 'New Storm is Coming' needs to be 'A New Storm is Coming', but otherwise I think it works reasonably well. Kris wants to turn up the opacity on the eye. I'm all "Sure, give it a whirl."

The Drazi contingent is appeased.
