#1 Music to die too...

Post by B4UTRUST »

We've got topics discussing love songs, favorite songs, etc.. But here's one I'm curious about. My brother's funeral had a rather varied set of music to say the least. But that was my brother. He, like me, didn't take to just one type. But throughout it, it was all songs that were music that my brother liked and listened too, yet they were all chosen because they could fit in a funeral. Snoop Dogg didn't come out to play, nor did Metallica or Charlie Daniels.

So here's my question, having been forced to think about this subject a lot lately. What do you want played at your funeral. It's your party, your family and friends are there for you. Funerals are for the living but it should be about the deceased and a rememberance of their life.

So what tunes do you die to?

For me, the ones that people always seem to play during happy times are always the saddest.

Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World
Jeff Buckley's Halelujah
Que Sera Sera(the slow version)
Gary Jules cover of Mad World
Type O Negative - Blood and Fire
Stone Sour - Bother
Yuki Kaijura - Fake wings
Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper
Spinal Tap - Break like the wind
Blink 182 - Adam's Song
Andy Prieboy - Tomorrow Wendy
Yoko Kanno - Voices

That's all I can think of for now... let's hear some of yours.

Led Zeplin - Stairway to Heaven
Hanson - I'll Be With You in your Dreams
Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing
Mark Wills - Wish You Were Here
Lonestar: I'm Already There

I'll think of a few more upbeat ones too... I'll get back to you.

He is my soldier, the love of my life and one day I will be a proud army wife
If he should be called to duty I will wait for him standing tall, for he is my soldier, my hero, after all.
