#1 Good Vampire Series

I've been watching True Blood, which is about vampires going public after the Japanese invent a synthetic blood they can feed on. It takes place in a small Louisiana town where Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) works as a waitress in a bar. Sookie is telepathic, which makes her life complicated, and in walks the vampire Bill Compton, returning to his roots. She can't hear his thoughts. She's also immune to vampiric mind control.
One thing leads to another and she's saving him from a trailer trash ambush (vampire blood is a drug) and they hit it off. Her tough girl best friend Tara comes to work at the bar ("I'm a black woman named after a plantation. How fucked up is that?" and her man-slut younger brother Jason gets involved in a murder investigation. Her boss is carrying a torch for her and has some secrets of her own and there are other vampires out and about.
It's great stuff.

It's adapted by Alan Ball, the guy who did Six Foot Under. The cast is great and the series is compelling. I haven't read the books, but the TV series is damn good. And Jason overdosing on V . . . ouch.

so far my two favorite characters in the show is Renee and Lafayette
Mostly because they make me laugh (and Renee has the most awesome Cajun accent I've heard on TV....)
Definatly a good watch.

And they are both nicely badass. Those boys are ripped. If you're going to gay bash Lafayette you better bring a big posse.
AIDSburger.

"Who ordered the Aids burger"
"I ordered a burger deluxe."
"Well here, the burger deluxe comes with cheese, pickles, onions, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, mayo and AIDS....."
That entire scene became my favorite three minutes of TV ever...

Lafayette continues to be awesome and now we know who the murderer is. Want to see more of the Magister (Ivanek does such great bastards) and Eric Northman.

Not sure there Cat...
When Amy was killed, Sam was with Sookie, Jason was passed out on V, I'm getting a feeling it's the GulfWar-vet.....between what Sookie saw last episode, and how Amy was killed this time.
The killer's pic reminded me of a young Sam...but I doubt it.

The killer isn't Sam. The picture was clearly Renee with big hair.

...I'll have to rewatch the episode when it plays tonight
but you may have a point Cat......
and that would be a damn shame...I liked Renee....
funny, his actor has such a awesome accent, and he's from Minnisota!

GOD DAMN IT!
We lose the two best characters in the show on the season finale!
I knew Renee was gonna get it especially after the last episode (you were right Cat, I went back and rewatched the last episode during last to see the picture, and it was a young Renee), but why him?
And am I the only one who has a bad bad feeling about next season and shit going down for Sam?

After some consideration, I believe Lafayette is alive.

Am I the only one who got the irony of Amy Burley's statement in "Nothing is real, everything is permitted."?
But all in all, great series. And AIDSburger wins the quoteable quote award, while watching Rogue get fucked on camera wins every other known award for greatness there is. Twice. Once for each time.
