Summary:
Starship Troopers to meet Fern Gully in Uncanny Valley.

I'm not sure I like the look of it, what do you think?

Primitive Aliens beat high tech weapons because they are pure of the heart!

Also throw in an anti-tech and anti-colonization message!

God I hate Hollywood sometimes.

Anti-tech is a bad message to send, but why is anti-colonisation? We look back at the age of colonisation as a period of shame for a lot of the things that were done to indigenous populations throughout the world.

When I say anti-colonization I mean in a more sci-fi message. When you look at this movie and "The Battle for Terra" there seems be a general message that we shouldn't even bother looking for other planets as it would only be harmful and we should stick to earth.

As you might guess I violently disagree with that.

As for the colonization of the Imperial age and before, let's leave that be.

But isn't coming to and settling a planet that's already inhabited analogous to that imperial age you refer to?

Depends whether it involves enslaving the natives.

Have a very nice day.

This planet doesn't look inhabited, at least not by intelligent life - not until the human colonists make up those blue catpeople. Which then end up revolting.

Looks to me that they pre-existed human arrival and that the implanted one are kinda like... agents? Diplomats?

Perhaps; but the trailer showed that blue catperson waking up in the lab, looking at himself, and saying in the same voice as that dude from the wheelchair, "this is great!"

So, either humans figured out a way to transfer one's memories and such into a blank slate of a being (which is my guess), or they just brute-force mind-wiped the being for this to occur.

However, this does lend credence to your thought that they might be either agents or diplomats, if the catpeople are not human genetic creations.

Here's the first full theatrical domestic trailer for the movie...and it looks like there are definite complications to what all of us originally thought. I'm now much more interested in seeing it.
