So...as some may be aware, my particular geekdom is in Transformers, and because of this...I have a small collection.

Some of my collection is missing things I would like - mostly because I cannot find them, or they have not been given to us by Hasbro (amoungst them is the Transformers Prime Breakdown toy.....Japan has it, but not the US).

So I've taken to fiddling with "extras" from my collection, and doing some modifications to them. Mostly just repainting them to other characters.

I recently got my hands on a second "Sergant Kup" from the "Transformers Prime Robots in Disguise" line. Now, the original charactter for the mold was SUPPOSSED to be Ironhide, but Hasbro decided to release it as Kup instead.

I decided to use my second "Kup" to turn him back into Ironhide.

Next Up: Transformers Prime Ultra Magnus (Work In Progress)

A Transformers Ultra Magnus who isn't a repaint of Optimus Prime! And he looks so beefy!

Now if only only the damn thing wasn't such a blue eyesore......

Well, let's fix that.

For this particular Ultra Magnus (his broken armed brother will be going into the "Parts Bin") I've decided to redo his paint job into something more befitting what a powerful looking Autobot he is - and as such I've decided on a mixed color scheme that should invoke both the original Generation 1 Ultra Magnus, and the later Transformers Animated Ultra Magnus.

Right here has the initial paint apps about 50% done - I've done the torso in flat black and a mixed medium grey for a base, and I've started laying out the initial "White" Sections. while I still have to finish priming out the legs and do the initial paint apps for the white there. Once I'm complete the white, I will be applying the blue and red paints to finish out the primary painting, and then move onto panel lining and detail highlighting in Chrome/Silver paint.

Also I need to get a better set up for taking pictures....the current way I'm doing it doesn't really give the figures justice.

This is mostly a Proof of Concept than anything....primarily because I screwed up WAY too much on this guy. I fucked up in the painting right from the start, and screwed up modding the head TWICE. . . I just have not been having much luck with him.

Maybe I'll revisit it if I get another Thundertron mold....maybe not.

Base is a TFP Thundertron, I ripped apart the regular sword-claw thing and modified it heavily (even the weapons seen in the fourth picture isn't final, but a temporary mod I'm playing with). The head is a heavily chopped up and painted Thundertron head, to make it looks more like G1 Razorclaw.

Paints are a mix of Forumla P3 and Testors Model Master Acryl - hopefully next time I attempt this I won't screw up on pretty much every step of this thing. . .
