The red ones the Sith use are artificial. Higher output, shorter lifespan. The ROTJ novelization also has Luke making artificial crystals for his green saber.

With synthetic crystals, it does require a Jedi meditation to assist in the process. Otherwise, I imagine lightsabers would be mass produced on a staggering scale.

If the Khaduli have significant magic, and apparently they do, then they should be able to carry on as large a winter campaign as they want; after all, magic can ward against the cold and create food as fairly easy spells. Unless they're all arcane casters; clerical magic tends to be better at the provisioning.

1) A cleric can support an adventuring party just fine. For tens of thousands of warriors, plus their wives and children and their herds, you need a fucking gigantic number of powerful clerics.

2) I have shown a considerable number of Khaduli magicians (but I've been focusing on the highest ranking members of their society) but not a single cleric.

3) They can handle the cold just fine.

Even if they can campaign in the winter, you gotta take a break sometime. Troops need downtime. You gotta reorganize after a campaign even if you're just a mob and of course the herds do need to be counted and checked over after a move.

Also a good time to shake down raw recruits and make sure all the loot has been assigned. Unowned slaves being bad for morale in a evil horde of world ending doom and all that.

There's that as well. The Khaduli lifestyle has fairly simple logistics, but multiply that by Great Horde and it becomes an issue. Also, they do need down time even if they would never express it that way.

I like the way you write the Combaticons. They come off as the best team on the Cons, working almost as well as Soundwave's crew.

They almost feel like a real military unit. A military unit made up of war criminals and scum but a military unit all the same.
