Mike stood. "Be back in a second." He said, stepping away and quickly coming back with an energy drink. He popped open the can, taking a drink before settling back in his seat. Looking over at Heidi, he chuckled. "Oh, we can work together, it's can we work together and not cause the penny pushers and the PR guys a nightmare."

Inferno's smile turned into a grin for a second before he took a bite of his burger, chewing thoughtfully he swallowed before responding. "Something like that."

Heidi ignored the dreamy Jerri for now. It was getting ridiculous how big that crush was. Then again, there were several other ladies in the cafeteria looking his way, so Jerri wasn't alone in the hero-worship.

"So, you're not going to say a thing until we get to the training room," Heidi said, pointing her fork at Inferno. "Well, I hope we're up for..." A beeping sound came from Heidi's watch, and she made a face.

Time's up.
"You really need to make these last longer, Jerri," Heidi bitched, ignoring Jerri's simple I'm working on it reply. "Last chance, Inferno. Her or me."

Inferno shrugged, "Like I said before, you two can pick." With that the young man took another bite from his burger.

Sunrise had gone down to the parking garage and gotten into his car, pulling out a small Tupperware container from a cooler he closed his trunk and headed to the Cafeteria in order to eat. Once done eating he would probably go up to the roof and try to get some sun. If only there was a pool up there for him to take a dip in. He would need to take advantage of an aquatic training room in the facility at some point.

He got up to the cafeteria and noticed Mark, Gemini, and Inferno sitting at a table.

"Oh what the hell?" he thought to himself and prepared to sit down next to them

"mind if I join you?" He asked.

"Wrong timing..." Heidi said, pushing back her chair and starting to get up, then sitting back down suddenly. "Ok... really bad timing..."

It was like watching time-lapse photography, as Heidi's hair grew at a phenominal rate, the curls straightening into long waves. The muscle mass shrunk, as well as her height, even her face contracting. It took only moments, but it was clear that during those moments Gemini was very vulnerable.

Jerri raised her head and looked around the table sheepishly. "She cut the timing too close to go somewhere private," Jerri explained, trying to discretely tug at her uniform, pulling the pleats and folds that expanded the uniform to fit back into place.

At least you can have some of the casserole now ... if you don't take all that time staring at Inferno's smile
With a blush, Jerri reached for her fork and started finishing the food on her tray.

Mike looked up at the turtle. "Sure." He said then looking over at Gemini as she turned into Jerri.

"That is a cool trick." He said with a grin. Mike turned his attention from her and looked at the rest of his teammates.

Inferno nodded to Sunrise for him to sit. As Gemini changed again Inferno took a few bites of his salad. "Well you're not always gonna get a chance to go off somewhere private. So I think it's best we, and you, get used to seeing the change."

"I would, for what it is worth, concur. I dont think any of us will think less of you for changing in front of us." with this, he opened his container and pulled out what looked like jello cubes that had...stuff... in them. So finely minced emulsified in the gelatin that it was impossible to tell what it actually was. He also took out a water bottle.

Moving to one of the reinforced heavy bags in the training room, Agent Templar stood about two meters away from it. He began throwing strikes - each strike fell far short of the bag, but the bag shuddered under the impact of each strike nonetheless.

Taking slow, deep breaths, he began to lose himself in the strikes, moving around all sides of the heavy bag as he continued.

He's right, you know
Jerri grimaced, playing with her food briefly. "It's ... my own personal hangup, I know," she admitted, not even wanting to think what the turtle might be eating. "Sometimes it's easier letting people think Heidi is fully separate."

Pffth, like that lasts long
Jerri did not point out that Heidi liked to break the myth far too often. Usually to Jerri's embarrassment and dismay. "Considering some of the things Heidi has done, it's easier being her 'twin'."

Mike nodded at her words. "What are they?" He asked, looking at Jerri. "I mean, what are some of the things?" He asked with a sly smile.

Ooo... does he want a list, or just a resume...
Jerri flushed, reaching out to take a last sip of her tea to delay having to answer. "I am not repeating her comment," she stated once she got more control over her reaction.

Spoilsport.
"Let's simply say we were removed from the last team after two of the male agents got into a fight over her."
I still should have just waded in and knocked their heads together

Mike held back a chuckle at her laugh, smiling. "Fighting over her?" He couldn't hold back his laugh this time. "Well, must have been a very close team." He said.

No, that was the problem Heidi and Jerri spoke in unison.

"There were already personality problems between the two of them," Jerri elaborated. "Heidi's little game made it worse."
Hey, I just wanted to see if a threesome would make them chill out.

"Little game?" the turtle asked "Pitting two men that are not related or that have not tricked themselves into thinking they are related, against eachother... especially if that bit about the team being close applies" he said winking "Will only end in trouble."

He finished, then put one of the gel strips in his mouth, put in some water, and covered his beak with his lips to hold in the water. He seemed to not really chew, but chop up the food with his beak, then swallow.

Huh?
"Either way, it didn't work," Jerri answered Sunrise, trying not to watch him eat. It was just like the rest of him... inhuman. Which was a helluva thing for a META to think, but she had to admit it fit.

Ok... not only does he look fucked up, but he eats funny and talks like he's Einstein. Wonder if that's a put-on to make up for his looks.
Jerri wished she was a place she could answer Heidi honestly. "She was sleeping with both of them," Jerri clarified, trying to speak as if it was a simple debriefing report.. "They found out, and had a fight that tore up one of the training bays."

Still don't know why they made you stop taking the serum for that long. It wasn't -my- fault!
"Heidi was ... disciplined as well once the reason came out, and the team broken up and reformed."

They obviously did not get it.
"Yep. Just what I thought. I have a Ph.D in ecology, but haven't you ever watched the discovery channel? Never seen two male chimpanzees get angry with eachother because they both want the same female? It never ends well. Sometimes the two chimps will form an alliance against other males, or be brothers, then they might work together and share females. Cheetas, lions and macaques do the same thing. I never understand how one can expect the result to be different with humans. It is a good thing the team got split up. That would only have gotten nastier."

He took another bite

Mike looked over at Sunrise, an eyebrow raised. He took a swig of his drink. "Yeah..." He agreed, then frowned. "Sunrise, just what the hell are you eating?" He asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.

He swallowed what he was eating

"Well, my new body has specific requirements after I transformed. I have to custom make my own food. There are also differences in taste and what my stomach can handle. What I basically do is cook fish, in this case pollock, mince it, toss it in a blender with cooked crayfish, algae, carrots, apples, strawberries, blue berries, and a few other things like a multivitamin and a calcium/vitamin D suppliment and hit Blend. I then mix the resulting slurry into a nice neutral flavored gelatin. In this case Lemon. It is not pretty and it would probably taste horrible to you, but I cant get enough of the stuff"

......... Is he comparing me to a monkey?
Jerri quickly took a bite of the casserole, which was nearly gone. She'd eaten a full potion, and Heidi'd eaten the other. The mass/energy had to have gone somewhere to allow them to eat that much, but some meta had high metabolisms to allow their bodies to function.

When Sunrise described his food, Heidi and Jerri both twitched. "So.. it's seafood jello-mold?" Jerri asked in surprise.
Didn't we have that at a party once?

Mike kept his face neutral, took another look at the jello like food then turned his attention away. "Glad I ate already." He muttered softly, finishing off his can of energy drink.

Inferno was quiet as the others spoke. He'd keep an eye on Heidi now, and likely not the kind of eye she wanted. For now, he was watching them, learning them, how they acted around one another, their prides, their weaknesses. He could tell a lot more about them than they gave away openly. After all, he'd been built that way.

Wait, what?

"Looks, uhhh. Delicious Sunrise."

Inferno finished off his burger and downed the last of his pop.

Huh... how long's he been listening?
Jerri sighed, picking up her tray. "It doesn't matter. I guess we need to head up to the training room now."
